Two young men are fighting for their lives after a suspected stabbing in broad daylight.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to a barber shop on Crawford Street in Queanbeyan in southern NSW<\/a>\u00a0about 1.10pm on Friday following reports of a brawl.\u00a0<\/p>\n

By the time police arrived, two men believed to be aged in their 20s, had already been rushed to Queanbeyan Hospital with serious injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Both men are reported to be in a critical condition.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Photos from the scene show a large police presence and the footpath outside the barber shop stained with blood, the Canberra Star <\/a>reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police closed off a lane of traffic to motorists as investigators scoured the scene and placed evidence markers along the footpath.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nearby businesses, include a newsagent, other hair salons and a Kmart were forced to close their doors.<\/p>\n

‘Early indications suggest the injured men were stabbed,’ a police statement read.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police were called to the scene about 1.10pm following reports of a brawl and stabbing<\/p>\n

‘It is not known whether other weapons were involved.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Detectives have established a\u00a0crime<\/a>\u00a0scene and launched an investigation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The incident has shocked the tight-knit community near the ACT border.<\/p>\n

‘It had a bad reputation a long time ago, but it\u2019s actually a really lovely place in the 10-20 years I\u2019ve known it,’ one mum told the publication.<\/p>\n

‘That\u2019s why we\u2019re moving back… I would\u2019ve never guessed something like this could\u2019ve happened here though.’<\/p>\n

Another local added: ‘On the surface it seems to be a very peaceful place.\u00a0I wouldn\u2019t expect something like this to happen.’<\/p>\n
