{"id":535061,"date":"2026-03-12T07:31:15","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T07:31:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/535061\/"},"modified":"2026-03-12T07:31:15","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T07:31:15","slug":"seventeens-vernon-the8-to-launch-new-unit-this-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/535061\/","title":{"rendered":"Seventeen&#8217;s Vernon, The8 to launch new unit this summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/0c03c80b-b8b9-4201-9ac1-f4e619bbdde3.jpg\" style=\"height: auto; aspect-ratio: 740 \/ 500; width: 100%\" alt=\"Seventeenr's Vernon, left, and The8 \/ Korea Times file\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"eager\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Seventeenr&#8217;s Vernon, left, and The8 \/ Korea Times file<\/p>\n<p class=\"editor-p\">Vernon and The8 of K-pop boy group Seventeen will form a new unit and are preparing to release an album in June, a music industry source said Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"editor-p\">&#8220;Vernon and The8 are working on a unit album with the goal of releasing it in June,&#8221; the source told Yonhap News Agency. &#8220;Both members are actively participating in production.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"editor-p\">The new duo marks Seventeen&#8217;s sixth unit project, following BSS composed of DK, Hoshi and Seungkwan; Jeonghan and Wonwoo; Hoshi and Woozi; S.Coups and Mingyu; and DK and Seungkwan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"editor-p\">Vernon, a rapper in Seventeen, has been writing and composing songs since the group&#8217;s debut.
