I\u2019m going to do the things I\u2019ve always dreamt of doing that are not anything to do with work. Just to do with exploration.\u201d<\/p>\n Asked if she was \u201cdoing all right\u201d following the marriage breakdown last year (Kidman filed for divorce in September, and the pair finalised the terms of their separation in January), she replied \u201cI am\u201d.<\/p>\n That echoed the simple response she gave to this masthead\u2019s Michael Idato last week when asked a similar question.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m good,\u201d she told Idato.<\/a> \u201cI\u2019m holding it steady. That\u2019s a good place to be able to say.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking to Variety, Kidman reiterated the positivity and family focus that she has always publicly projected.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m always going to be moving toward what\u2019s good,\u201d she said. \u201cWhat I\u2019m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That\u2019s that.<\/p>\n \u201cEverything else I don\u2019t discuss out of respect,\u201d she added, making it clear there would be no further revelations on the state of play between her and her ex. \u201cI\u2019m staying in a place of, \u2018We are a family\u2019, and that\u2019s what we\u2019ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.\u201d<\/p>\n Kidman and Urban have two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, and have agreed on a shared custody arrangement that sees the girls spend 306 days a year with their mother and every other weekend \u2013 totalling 59 days a year \u2013 with their father.<\/p>\n Kidman owns multiple properties, in Sydney, New York, Los Angeles and the southern highlands of NSW. But she confirmed that she intended to maintain a home in Nashville, Tennessee, where she and Urban lived, as her primary residence.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have our life here,\u201d she said, referring to herself and her daughters. \u201cI\u2019m part of the city and community for 20 years. It\u2019s my home.\u201d<\/p>\n Asked if she was ready to come out of her shell in 2026, she said of her experience last year: \u201cI was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell.<\/p>\n \u201cNow I\u2019m in a place of saying, \u20182026. Here we go\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n Travel has always been a central part of life for Kidman, who was born in Hawaii. The acting career she embarked upon in her teens has since taken her to all corners of the globe.<\/p>\n Kidman revealed that she has been to Antarctica and has trips planned to the Galapagos Islands and to the Andes, to hike Machu Picchu.<\/p>\n \u201cI took my sister, nieces and nephews and loads of friends on a cruise,\u201d she said. \u201cWe met so many good people that we didn\u2019t know. We saw penguins and sea lions.\u201d<\/p>\n Related Article Divorce or no, when you\u2019re Nicole Kidman, it seems, the world really is your oyster.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve gone to the Algerian border with Werner Herzog to ride camels,\u201d she told Variety.\u202f\u201cMy kids have gotten to live in Morocco and\u202fsee so much more of what the world is.
