But Yze refused to put the blame on his veteran.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt actually was really windy out there,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven pre-game, we were trying to work out what the best method was.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019d kick one at the left goalpost and we\u2019d go the other side and the wind would completely change. It was quite tough to read.<\/p>\n
\u201cTom\u2019s usually a beautiful kick so if he\u2019s struggling to kick them, you know the wind is doing a bit.<\/p>\n

Lynch would finish with the worst disposal efficiency of the match for either side at less than 31%.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe didn\u2019t really have a lot of good looks from 30 (metres) out straight in front \u2026 but he\u2019d be disappointed,\u201d Montagna said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is what he\u2019s in the team to do \u2013 the senior player.<\/p>\n

AFL great Jason Dunstall said Lynch was left questioning his routine, which had a negative effect on his shots late in the contest.<\/p>\n
\u201cNormally you rely on your routine. You sit there, and you convince yourself that if I do my routine properly, I\u2019ll more than likely kick the goal,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut when you\u2019ve got 1.7 and you\u2019re sitting there going \u2018the routine is not working\u2019 \u2026 it tells you there\u2019s something you\u2019re actually doing wrong in that routine.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think tonight there was a little bit of indecision.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey didn\u2019t know what the wind was doing. If you\u2019re not convinced about where to start the ball, that makes it really hard to commit to the kick. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt sounded like he kept throwing them up in the end, hoping one of them would drift through on the breeze.<\/p>\n
