{"id":536290,"date":"2026-03-12T20:48:10","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T20:48:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/536290\/"},"modified":"2026-03-12T20:48:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T20:48:10","slug":"superman-sequel-man-of-tomorrow-adds-aaron-pierre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/536290\/","title":{"rendered":"Superman Sequel Man of Tomorrow Adds Aaron Pierre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn brightest day, in blackest night, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/aaron-pierre\/\" id=\"auto-tag_aaron-pierre_1\" data-tag=\"aaron-pierre\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aaron Pierre<\/a> will face the Man of Steel\u2019s might.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPierre, who is already playing Green Lantern hero John Stewart in HBO\u2019s upcoming DC series <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/lanterns\/\" id=\"auto-tag_lanterns_1\" data-tag=\"lanterns\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lanterns<\/a>, is joining the cast of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/man-of-tomorrow\/\" id=\"auto-tag_man-of-tomorrow_1\" data-tag=\"man-of-tomorrow\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Man of Tomorrow<\/a>, James Gunn\u2019s sequel to 2025\u2019s Superman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tGunn wrote the script and is directing Man of Tomorrow, which is due to begin production this summer in Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tDavid Corenswet is back as Superman and Nicholas Hoult returns as Lex Luthor in a story that sees the two team up to fight the technological alien threat known as Brainiac. German actor Lars Eidinger is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/man-of-tomorrow-finds-its-brainiac-lars-eidinger-1236431393\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">playing the latter<\/a>, one of Superman\u2019s classic villains.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe movie is due to bring back much of the cast, Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen) and Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher) among them. Heroes returning include Hawkgirl, played by Isabela Merced, and The Engineer, played by Maria Gabriella de Faria.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tProduction is scheduled to begin April in Atlanta and go into the summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPierre as Stewart is part of Gunn\u2019s vision of having the DC screen universe, both the DC movies with the DC television shows, integrate seamlessly as one story universe. Stewart is a Green Lantern, one of the space cops patrolling Earth and its sector as part of the Green Lantern Corps, and his appearance make tonal sense as both Superman and Brainiac are space-faring characters with alien origins. Pierre is making his debut as the character in Lanterns, DC Studios\u2019 first live-action series outing that will debut in August.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPierre caught Hollywood\u2019s attention with a commanding turn in Rebel Ridge, Netflix\u2019s 2024 thriller directed by Jeremy Saulnier. Last year he did a stint on Apple TV\u2019s The Morning Show and did voicework work in Mufasa: The Lion King as well last month\u2019s GOAT.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPierre is repped by WME, Anonymous Content and U.K.\u2019s B-Side Management.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"In brightest day, in blackest night, Aaron Pierre will face the Man of Steel\u2019s might.
