GDC 2026, now known as the GDC Festival of Gaming, is underway. Nvidia is one of the biggest companies in attendance, and Team Green has dished out a whole list of announcements, chiefly focused on the latest updates in GeForce RTX (including DLSS 4.5<\/a>), GeForce Now, and RTX Remix<\/a>. As for GFN, Nvidia is upgrading its cloud gaming service with \u201cbetter experiences & faster access\u201d \u2013 including better support for VR gamers.<\/p>\n

\u201cSmoother VR experiences\u201d are coming to GeForce Now. Namely, Nvidia is upgrading from 60 FPS to 90 FPS game streaming for anyone playing through a compatible VR headset. The uplift matches the jump to 90 FPS that Steam Deck users enjoyed last year<\/a> to match the native 90Hz refresh rate of the OLED model.<\/p>\n

GeForce Now upgraded to 90 FPS, while visionOS gets CloudXR support<\/p>\n

Nvidia has announced up to 90 FPS support when gaming via GeForce Now for \u201cvirtual reality devices\u201d including Meta Quest headsets<\/a> and Apple\u2019s Vision Pro. The upgrade is part of sweeping improvements to the popular cloud gaming service, along with GOG and Gaijin game library integration, select Xbox titles joining the Install-to-Play library<\/a>, which launched last September.<\/p>\n

Aside from GeForce Now, Nvidia is also giving Apple Vision Pro owners the chance to stream 4K 120 FPS gameplay via visionOS. Nvidia has teamed up with Apple to integrate its CloudXR<\/a> platform into the Vision Pro\u2019s operating system. Unlike GFN, CloudXR offers more rendering power to support virtual reality\/augmented reality (VR\/AR) and tends to focus on virtual workstations. However, Nvidia is pushing the gaming potential of the platform with this new update.<\/p>\n

Nvidia is positioning CloudXR as a fantastic gaming tool for immersive sim gaming. Foveated PC streaming will soon be available with up to 4K and 120 FPS gameplay with stereoscopic rendering for iRacing and X-Plane 12.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PC Guide is reader-supported.
