Former Today Show entertainment presenter Richard Reid has revealed he \u201chated\u201d working with Karl Stefanovic, as he vowed to \u201cnever\u201d listen to his new podcast.<\/p>\n
The American award-winning television and radio personality is best known for appearing on the Today show between 2008 and 2015.<\/p>\n
The household breakfast show name would regularly present the latest entertainment gossip with current co-host Stefanovic and former star Lisa Wilkinson.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was gonna say fond memories of\u00a0Today, but that was gonna be just a lie coming outta my mouth, you know?\u201d he told host\u00a0Skye Sydenham on the A Bit Rogue podcast<\/a>\u00a0this week.<\/p>\n \u201cI started to do the gossip with Lisa Wilkinson and Karl \u2026 They weren\u2019t even listening to anything I was just saying.<\/p>\n \u201cThe last year of that show, I hated it. I hated working with \u2013 not with Richard Wilkins \u2013 I hated working with Karl and everyone was unhappy. Everyone was miserable. Everyone hated each other.\u201d<\/p>\n Reid then revealed he would see a therapist for help dealing with his role on the show.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019d go to my therapist once a week and be like \u2018they\u2019re so mean to me \u2026 he\u2019s not even listening to me\u2026 making fun of me’,\u201d the Gossip Guru continued.<\/p>\n The 57-year-old was asked if he still has a relationship with Stefanovic and longstanding Today entertainment reporter Richard Wilkinson.<\/p>\n \u201cNo \u2026 well no,\u201d he bluntly replied in response to Stefanovic.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was a good run. I had such a good run on\u00a0Today, and Richard Wilkins is still, I consider a very, very, very close friend.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was the best and we had great chemistry.\u201d<\/p>\n Elsewhere during the interview, Reid said he\u2019s heard whispers of The Karl Stefanovic Show<\/a>causing a suspected rift in the Nine newsroom.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve heard that people at Nine aren\u2019t crazy about him doing this new show because \u2018why aren\u2019t these guests exclusive on Today or 60 Minutes, why are they on The Karl Stefanovic Show\u2019,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cI can understand that, but I would never listen to the show, A, because I can\u2019t stand his voice, but that\u2019s just me.\u201d<\/p>\n The 51-year-old Today Show host\u00a0launched the self-funded podcast venture in January,<\/a>\u00a0promising to “unleash his inner beast” through candid, wide-ranging conversations.<\/p>\n
