\n\tWith a subject this vast, we need to establish a few ground rules before jumping into the list:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tThis is not a list of every single thing each member of this band has ever done throughout their entire lives. This is a list of songs by the members of BTS released after the formation of BTS. We are not including any songs released before BTS debuted in June 2013, which means songs like 14-year-old RM\u2019s \u201cCollabo\u201d and \u201cFuck Cockroachez\u201d were not eligible.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tWe are only counting songs in which a member of BTS is credited or co-credited as the main artist on the track. Features do not count, but duets or any other kind of collaboration where the BTS member gets equal billing as the main artist on the track do count. So, \u201cStop the Rain\u201d\u00a0 by Tablo and RM made the list, while \u201cThat That\u201d by PSY, which is credited as \u201c(prod. & feat. Suga of BTS),\u201d did not.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tSolo versions of songs that had already appeared on BTS albums or had been previously recorded by the group were not eligible. But, of course, all songs on their mixtapes and solo albums were included.<\/p>\n
\n\tBTS has made many television appearances where they performed one-off songs as subunits. They also made an iconic guest appearance at the legendary Seo Taiji\u2019s 25th-anniversary concert, where he proclaimed BTS as his musical successors. As great as they were, those appearances aren\u2019t included. Songs released on social media are not included.\u00a0 Covers that were released as singles or uploaded onto BTS\u2019 official channels are included.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tSince their 2013 debut, some of the members \u2014 particularly RM and Suga \u2014 have gone by different stage names. For clarity\u2019s sake, we are sticking to the names they currently use within BTS: RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe BTS universe is vast and rich and unlike anything else in the history of pop music. The seven musicians are prolific as a group and as individuals, creating smart, fun music that encourages listeners to think and dance, laugh and cry, bliss out and emit primal screams. While these artists mesh together beautifully as BTS, there\u2019s something really special about what they are creating separately. This list is a celebration of that story. <\/p>\n

\n\tA huge part of V\u2019s allure is his deep voice and his affinity for soul and jazz. There\u2019s nothing special about the simple production. It\u2019s V\u2019s delivery that sells this ballad.<\/p>\n
\tRM, \u2018Throw Away\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\tDistorted guitars and an aggressive backbeat propel \u201cThrow Away,\u201d a raging number that has a similar vibe to Prodigy\u2019s 1990s techno hit \u201cFirestarter.\u201d The way RM overpronounces as he screams out buhryuh\/\ubc84\ub824 \u2014 the Korean word for throw away \u2014 even sounds like he\u2019s saying \u201cfire.\u201d RM gives a shout-out to other rappers, notably Wu-Tang Clan and his own bandmate Suga.<\/p>\n
\tSuga, \u2018Life Goes On\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\tA companion piece to BTS\u2019 2020 song of the same name, Suga\u2019s solo reinterpretation is an affirmation of saying goodbye to \u201cthe place where I passed for 10 years\u201d and looking forward to adjusting to his future, as life goes on.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tLoneliness is a theme that runs throughout RM\u2019s mixtape Mono. On this soft piano-led all-English track, RM explores that feeling. With lyrics like \u201cI can\u2019t sleep\/Homesick, babe\/I just wanna stay right next to you,\u201d listeners can extrapolate that he\u2019s missing someone who he isn\u2019t allowed to be seen with in public, due to the no-dating nature of the idol system.<\/p>\n
\tRM feat. Colde, \u2018Hectic\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\tRM and Colde contemplate how a dizzyingly crammed lifestyle affects their artistry: \u201cYesterday was hectic, there was nothing romantic\/If I can just find a reason\/To keep this endless chasing.\u201d The thumping beat adds to the song\u2019s tension, as the two artists try to find a solution to something they may not want to change.<\/p>\n

\n\tRM worked on this song for three years before inviting Cherry Filter\u2019s Youjeen to join him on it. The lead track from his album Indigo, the song deals with how to best handle his desires before they devour him. Youjeen\u2019s soaring vocals reassure RM\u2019s, telling him that he will not vanish like a flame. Rather, he\u2019ll thrive like a resilient wildflower.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tJ-Hope feat. Miguel, \u2018Sweet Dreams\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\tJ-Hope sounds smooth rapping in fluid English and making the kind of promises meant to make listeners both wistful and weak in the knees: \u201cWe might never get to sleep tonight\/I\u2019ll give you everything you need tonight\/This kind of love I guarantee for life\/Dreams are gonna be sweet tonight.\u201d Miguel\u2019s falsetto is a delightful addition to this soulful single, which J-Hope has confirmed is his first song centered on romantic love.<\/p>\n

\tJ-Hope feat. J. Cole, \u2018On the Street\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\tJ-Hope collaborated with J. Cole on the 2023 release of \u201cOn the Street,\u201d and followed that up with a solo rendition in 2024 for his Hope on the Street album. The album version includes an additional verse, with J-Hope sounding a bit more raw and vulnerable.<\/p>\n
\tSuga feat. IU, \u2018People Pt. 2\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\tEmbracing his pop-rock solo career, Jin\u2019s \u201cRunning Wild\u201d is the focus track from his debut album, Happy. Jin hits all the right, deliciously high notes in this song, which was co-written and co-produced by Take That\u2019s Gary Barlow. The song\u2019s thesis is to liberate oneself from expectations by running until \u201cthere\u2019s nothing left, \u2018till our last breath.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tV released this song on Christmas Day 2020 to lift the spirits of everyone affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The song is soothing, with V offering a romantic and jazzy interpretation. Joined by Peakboy \u2014 who plays guitar, drums, and also raps \u2014 \u201cSnow Flower\u201d celebrates the beauty of nunkkot (\ub208\uaf43), which is Korean for snowflake. The literal translation, however, is \u201csnow (\ub208) flower (\uaf43),\u201d some of which are strong enough to survive the brutal winters to bloom in the spring. \u201cWhen the world is full of white flowers,\u201d V croons, \u201cmay our times be more special.\u201d<\/p>\n
\tRM feat. Park Ji-yoon, \u2018No. 2\u2019<\/p>\n

Instead, accept yourself, flaws and all. \u201cI\u2019ve only learned one thing so far,\u201d RM sings to Park. \u201cI\u2019ll be forever me \u2026\/You\u2019ve done your best.\u201d<\/p>\n
\tHalsey and Suga, \u2018Lilith (Diablo IV Anthem)\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\tA fierce, emotional duet between Halsey (who sang on BTS\u2019 \u201cBoy With Luv\u201d) and Suga, \u201cLilith (Diablo IV Anthem)\u201d is a reworked version of Halsey\u2019s 2021 song \u201cLilith.\u201d Suga\u2019s pointed commentary on power and corruption are compelling. But when Halsey accepts blame for \u201cdoin\u2019 things I\u2019m not supposed to,\u201d he steps in to reassure and remind her to \u201cstep out of the moment that\u2019s been trappin\u2019 you in all this negativity of hatred and insanity.\u201d<\/p>\n
\tJin, \u2018Tonight\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\tUpon first listen, this sentimental ode can be interpreted as Jin missing someone from his past. \u201cWhen this night passes, I\u2019m afraid I won\u2019t be able to see you,\u201d he sings. The gentle song is actually about the death of his pets, who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.<\/p>\n
\tRM, \u2018Nuts\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen Jin released a short version of \u201cSuper Tuna\u201d in 2021, it was supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek tune to amuse ARMY \u2014 kind of like a \u201cBaby Shark\u201d for BTS fans. But with its old-school-trot vibe and Jin\u2019s earnest delivery, it became a sensation that earned a full-length version in 2024. The song is silly, catchy, and just what we need in a turbulent era. And to be perfectly frank, if Pablo Neruda can deify a dead tuna in his mournful poem \u201cOde to a Large Tuna in the Market,\u201d then Jin can sing this deliriously happy song about a tuna begging to be caught, unaware that death is looming in his own fate.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBadbye\u201d is a bewitching song that, at just under two minutes, is also the shortest on Mono. Which is unfortunate, because it\u2019s sonically so beautiful. Handling the majority of vocals is eAeon, eerily singing words that leave no hope for a happy ending: \u201cBad badbye, no goodbye.\u201d When RM joins in, repeating \u201cKill me, kill softly,\u201d we can only imagine what led to this tragic badbye.<\/p>\n

Sung in Korean, English, and Spanish, the duo\u2019s rendition is a peppy, free-flowing hip-hop track set to a heavy bass line and lots and lots of energy.<\/p>\n
\tJimin, \u2018Like Crazy\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\tThere are both English and Korean versions of this song, which starts with indiscernible whispers, giving it a mysterious start. One could argue about the lyrics being overtly sexual (\u201cGive me a good ride\u201d), but as Jimin wraps his warm vocals around the words, he turns it into a gentle plea.<\/p>\n
\tJ-Hope, \u2018Future\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\tJ-Hope can be dark and deep. But he can also flip the switch and create some upbeat and vibrant songs. \u201cFuture\u201d is a joyful song of hope. Whitney Houston once sang \u201cI believe the children are our future,\u201d and J-hope believes it too. As a children\u2019s choir chirps \u201cNa na na\u201d in the background, you can almost feel his smile.<\/p>\n
\tHalsey and Suga, \u2018SUGA\u2019s Interlude\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\tIn this dreamlike collaboration between Suga and Halsey, the pair contemplate their burgeoning careers and the complications of fame. \u201cI was full of dreams and made them come true,\u201d Suga reveals on the atmospheric track. \u201cYet maybe those dreams as dreams could have been better.\u201d<\/p>\n
\tTablo and RM, \u2018Stop the Rain\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\tThis brutally honest song technically belongs to Tablo. But the Epik High rapper has said it wouldn\u2019t exist without RM. Set to a languid beat, \u201cStop the Rain\u201d offers unflinching insight into the despair each artist went through to get to where they are today. RM sings of suicidal ideation (\u201cWhen I was a kid, I was convinced that I was destined for the 27 club\u201d). Interestingly, the almost all-English track offers one Korean line near the end (\ub2e4\uc2dc \ub36b \ub4a4\uc5d0 \ub36b). Its inclusion is powerful, alluding to a cyclical feeling of being trapped \u2014 as if the revelation is too personal to reveal in a language too many people understand.<\/p>\n
