{"id":537551,"date":"2026-03-13T10:21:12","date_gmt":"2026-03-13T10:21:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/537551\/"},"modified":"2026-03-13T10:21:12","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T10:21:12","slug":"fifo-worker-reveals-how-rentvesting-strategy-set-him-up-with-financial-independence-four-properties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/537551\/","title":{"rendered":"FIFO worker reveals how rentvesting strategy set him up with financial independence, four properties"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Australian fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) worker Mathew Bellomia credits his four rental properties \u2013 two in Brisbane, one in Moreton Bay and another in Perth, with a fifth on the way &#8211; to rentvesting, describing it as his golden ticket into the housing market.<\/p>\n<p>Landing a FIFO job on a Western Australia drill rig at 23 put Mr Bellomia in a prime position to boost his income and set himself up financially for life, he told Mortgage Choice.<\/p>\n<p>It was here that he began rentvesting &#8211; a strategy where a buyer rents property to live in, while buying a property in a suburb they can afford, and renting it out as an investment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI knew that property was the vehicle I needed to use to grow some wealth,\u201d Bellomia said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI grew up watching single-income parents trying to raise three kids.
