Costume designer Jean-Pierre\u00a0Dorl\u00e9ac isn\u2019t shying away from naming a few nightmare celebrities he\u2019s worked with throughout his career. <\/p>\n
During a chat with the Daily Mail<\/a>, Dorl\u00e9ac labeled stars like Kirstie Alley, Shannen Doherty and Patrick Macnee as bad apples. <\/p>\n \u201cKirstie was very crude and very brassy and coarse, irresponsible, never on time, a mess, a constant mess,\u201d Dorl\u00e9ac said of his time working with the late \u201cCheers\u201d star.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had to clean her her uniform. She was supposed to be a travel agent in the series called \u2018Masquerade\u2019 with Rod Taylor, and she sweated so badly because she drank.\u201d<\/p>\n Famous costume designer Jean-Pierre Dorl\u00e8ac, seen above standing next to a row of mannequins at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Best Costume Nominees Exhibition, named a list of nightmare celebrities he\u2019s worked with in an interview with the Daily Mail. WireImage<\/p>\n He labeled the late Kirstie Alley, pictured above, as \u201cvery crude and very brassy and coarse, irresponsible, never on time,\u201d and \u201ca constant mess.\u201d Getty Images for Extra<\/p>\n The designer went on to share how he had a $350 pearl pink angora sweater dress made for Alley, but it was ruined after a trip to the snacks table.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was a stunning thing for a scene where she had a major line delivery to do, and about three minutes before she did the scene, she went to the craft table service and picked up this great big chocolate donut and accidentally, supposedly, dropped it down the front of her dress,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cThere was nothing but this big streak of chocolate through her breast all the way down to her belly button,\u201d he said, adding that they ultimately had to throw the dress away.<\/p>\n But, the incident turned out not to be a one-off for Alley, who publicly struggled with her weight<\/a> for years. She died at age 71<\/a> in 2022.<\/p>\n \u201cShe did that over and over again, plus she was constantly gaining weight, and she was always rude,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n In one incident, Dorl\u00e8ac claimed Alley, seen above in a \u201cMasquerade\u201d promo photo, ruined a $350 costume after dropping a chocolate donut down the front of her dress. \u00a920thCentFox\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/p>\n \u201cShe did that over and over again, plus she was constantly gaining weight, and she was always rude,\u201d Dorl\u00e8ac, seen above holding a cat, said of the late actress. And she goes, \u2018yeah, they are, aren\u2019t they?’\u201d<\/p>\n The following day, he dressed her in a tan outfit which he paired with a cream-colored hat, but this time, the \u201cCharmed\u201d star\u2019s eyes appeared brown. <\/p>\n \u201cThen the next day, she\u2019s doing something else, and it\u2019s more of a vivid green, and her eyes are almost cat green, not hazel-y green, like mine or hers were originally,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n The designer also took aim at Shannen Doherty (pictured above speaking at MegaCon Orlando 2024 Q&A session), calling her \u201cvery unhappy.\u201d Getty Images<\/p>\n At one point, while working together on the TV movie, \u201cA Burning Passion: The Margaret Mitchell Story\u201d (seen above), the designer claimed Doherty gave him an expletive-laced tongue lashing. \u00a9NBC\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/p>\n Dorl\u00e9ac asked the star how she was able to change her eye color so many times, which earned him a swift tongue-lashing from the star, he said. <\/p>\n \u201cShe answered: \u2018Just I\u2019ll keep your f\u2013king mouth shut. I\u2019m doing this.\u2019 I said, \u2018What are you talking about?’\u201d the designer explained.<\/p>\n \u201cShe says, \u2018I hate this goddamn movie, and I don\u2019t want to play this Margaret Mitchell. Jesus! Who wants to play an old cripple like Margaret Mitchell?’\u201d<\/p>\n Dorl\u00e9ac claimed Doherty was at odds with the movie\u2019s producer Ren\u00e9e Valente and hatched a plan to change her eye color to \u201cthrow the film off.\u201d<\/p>\n
