Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight prospect Steven Asplund suffered the first Octagon defeat of his career at UFC Vegas 114<\/a> last night (Sat., March 14, 2026), dropping a competitive unanimous decision to Brazil\u2019s Vitor Petrino inside the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlright, that is clearly not the decision we wanted,\u201d Asplund laughed. \u201cI ain\u2019t going to lie, bro, I thought I was going to get the nod. I mean, obviously my face looks like a mess, but f\u2014k, I dropped that bastard two times and got up from a f\u2014king takedown and he couldn\u2019t sub me. Hey man, I told you motherf\u2014kers you\u2019re going to have to kill me \u2014 and \u2018Concrete\u2019 is still pushing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the loss, Asplund remained upbeat and made it clear he wants to get back inside the Octagon as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I\u2019ll see whoever is next in a couple of months,\u201d Asplund added. \u201cHey Dana, I hope you liked that shit. Holler at your boy, man. I\u2019m just a fat kid trying to be something. Thank you guys for all the love and support \u2014 it means a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

The defeat snapped Asplund\u2019s four-fight win streak, which included a \u2018Fight of the Night\u2019 victory in his UFC debut against Sean Sharaf (watch highlights<\/a>), as well as his contract-winning performance on Contender Series<\/a>, where he knocked out Anthony Guarascio in just 16 seconds.<\/p>\n
