\n\tDoja Cat<\/a> is opening up about her mental health<\/a> struggles.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 30-year-old pop star revealed through TikTok<\/a> on Friday (March 13) that she has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve learned from a very young age to pretend that I like stuff, to pretend that I\u2019m happy, to pretend that I don\u2019t like stuff that I do, to appear like everything is okay,\u201d Doja said in the video. \u201cI\u2019ll get it done. And it caught up with me, and I think it always does for people. I\u2019m now struggling with BPD.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBorderline personality disorder \u201cis a mental health condition that affects the way people feel about themselves and others,\u201d according to the Mayo Clinic<\/a>. The condition can make it difficult to function in everyday life and \u201cincludes a pattern of unstable, intense relationships, as well as impulsiveness and an unhealthy way of seeing themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDoja added that she has been \u201cstruggling\u201d with BPD for \u201cprobably forever\u201d and that it has been \u201cagonizing.\u201d \u201cI\u2019ve been in therapy for years now, and I am so relieved and so proud of myself,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019ve made it so far and I still make mistakes, but it is an eight-year process of curing, treatment and healing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThis isn\u2019t the first time Doja Cat has opened up<\/a> about her mental health. The \u201cKiss Me More\u201d singer told Rolling Stone<\/a> in 2021 that she struggles with ADHD and dropped out of high school at 16 because of it.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt felt like I was stuck in one spot and everybody else was progressing constantly,\u201d she said at the time.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn her TikTok video, Doja also defended Chappell Roan<\/a> following the artist\u2019s recent run-in with paparazzi<\/a> at Paris Fashion Week, praising her for staying true to herself.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI had to learn how to be honest,\u201d Doja said. \u201cI had to learn how to be honest with myself. I lied to myself for years, for most of my life, and to see her sit there, and I love it. I love that she can do that without hurting people. She hasn\u2019t hurt one person by being herself, and that shows that I can do the same.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDoja added that she respects Roan for embracing her discomfort and standing up for herself. \u201cShe can be uncomfortable, comfortably in front of people, and protect herself and be honest,\u201d Doja said.<\/p>\n
