This one is a bit different. An unnamed Pittwater resident gifted 27 Elizabeth Street, Avalon Beach to the Council at no cost (except for the legal costs incurred by the owner for the transfer).<\/p>\n

In May 2025, Council resolved to acquire the land for public open space and classify it as Community Land (land designated for public use, like a park or sports ground and cannot be sold).<\/p>\n

Council is accepting submissions in regard to classifying the land as Community Land. It is currently zoned as C4 Environmental Living, which still allows low-density residential homes.<\/p>\n

The upper level will be used for golf practice and will include six golf hitting bays, two golf teaching bays, a flexible space to be used for gym\/stretching\/exercise activities, a room suitable for physiotherapy or other health\/wellness treatment, a sauna and ice bath room, shower, toilet and change rooms and a space to be used for people to meet and wait to utilise the facilities.<\/p>\n

The lower level of the new building will be used for the storage and charging of electric golf carts and provision of storage space and other facilities supporting the operation of the Club.<\/p>\n
