Owner of the longest winning streak in UFC history (16) and the second-most title defenses (10), Silva continued to fight into his forties with his legacy already cemented.<\/p>\n<p>After his <a href=\"https:\/\/bloodyelbow.com\/tag\/ufc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">UFC<\/a> exit in 2020, Silva returned to the sport of <a href=\"https:\/\/bloodyelbow.com\/tag\/boxing\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">boxing<\/a> in 2021, picking up wins over former WBC champion <a href=\"https:\/\/bloodyelbow.com\/tag\/julio-cesar-chavez-jr\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.<\/a> and Tito Ortiz before he dropped a decision to <a href=\"https:\/\/bloodyelbow.com\/tag\/jake-paul\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jake Paul<\/a> the following year.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, the 50-year-old Silva has only fought once\u2014in an exhibition match against former UFC title challenger <a href=\"https:\/\/bloodyelbow.com\/tag\/chael-sonnen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chael Sonnen<\/a> last summer, which ended in a draw.<\/p>\n<p>This week, <a href=\"https:\/\/bloodyelbow.com\/2025\/08\/08\/too-old-fans-express-concern-over-anderson-silva-returning-at-50-after-former-ufc-rival-allegedly-confirms-trilogy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Silva was reported to box another former rival of his in Chris Weidman<\/a>, the fighter who took his middleweight title away in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>However, according to Silva\u2019s family, the trilogy fight may not be happening after all.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"664\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/GettyImages-173093051-1024x664.jpg\" alt=\"UFC 162: Silva v Weidman\" \/>Photo by Josh Hedges\/Zuffa LLC\/Zuffa LLC via Getty ImagesAnderson Silva\u2019s children call \u2018cap\u2019 on boxing return vs. Chris Weidman<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Silva\u2019s boxer sons Gabriel and Kalyl responded to a report that their father was set to fight <a href=\"https:\/\/bloodyelbow.com\/tag\/chris-weidman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Weidman<\/a> again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think my dad knows about this,\u201d Kalyl said in a now-deleted Silva vs. Weidman post from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/fullviolence\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Full Violence<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think so either,\u201d Silva\u2019s daughter Kaory replied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Cap],\u201d Gabriel commented an emoji of a hat, suggesting the fight news was not true.<\/p>\n<p>As of this writing, Anderson Silva has yet to shut down the rumors of his boxing match with Weidman.<\/p>\n<p>Weidman is 2-0 against Silva in MMA, defeating him in back-to-back fights in 2013, one by knockout after Silva showboated, and the other, a leg injury for Silva after Weidman checked a leg kick.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson Silva linked up with Khamzat Chimaev ahead of UFC 319<\/p>\n<p>The longtime middleweight champion recently met one of the scariest fighters to ever enter his division in <a href=\"https:\/\/bloodyelbow.com\/tag\/khamzat-chimaev\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Khamzat Chimaev<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Chimaev has a perfect professional record of 14-0, and the highly-touted wrestler is set to challenge champion <a href=\"https:\/\/bloodyelbow.com\/tag\/dricus-du-plessis\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dricus du Plessis<\/a> for the middleweight title in the main event of <a href=\"https:\/\/bloodyelbow.com\/tag\/ufc-319\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">UFC 319<\/a> on Aug. 16 in Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>But before he does, \u2018Borz\u2019 made sure to get a photo op with the legendary \u2018Spider\u2019 Silva while he was in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMuch love to my brother @spiderandersonsilva for showing up to @jaxxonmediahouse for last day of camp to wish our guy @khamzat_chimaev love &amp; support for his upcoming title fight,\u201d Bear Degidio said of the link-up.<\/p>\n<p>  <script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Hold your horses on Anderson Silva\u2019s comeback fight.
