{"id":543772,"date":"2026-03-16T09:38:10","date_gmt":"2026-03-16T09:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/543772\/"},"modified":"2026-03-16T09:38:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T09:38:10","slug":"gen3-supercars-would-shine-at-phillip-island","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/543772\/","title":{"rendered":"Gen3 Supercars would shine at Phillip Island"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-2726-Kai-Allen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">KAI Allen<\/a> believes Gen3 Supercars would put on a show at Phillip Island if the Victorian venue was ever to return to the calendar.<\/p>\n<p>Allen relished an opportunity to drive an ex-Erebus Motorsport Mercedes-AMG Supercar at the weekend\u2019s Phillip Island Classic.<\/p>\n<p>All the while, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/supercars-open-to-revisiting-phillip-island\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">there is intrigue around the prospect of a potential Supercars\/Phillip Island renaissance<\/a> in the wake of MotoGP\u2019s decision to shift its annual Aussie visit to Adelaide starting next year.<\/p>\n<p>Phillip Island is just about as picturesque as any circuit in the world and features sweeping, undulating sections of track.<\/p>\n<p>With less aero on this generation of Supercar than its predecessors, Allen reckons the racing would be a must-watch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d absolutely love it. It\u2019s such a cool venue,\u201d he told V8 Sleuth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s a bit of a shame we don\u2019t race here anymore.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m fortunate to get to do these opportunities and these events to actually get to go around this beautiful track.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d love for Supercars to come back here, I think it would be pretty lively in the Gen3s.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously there\u2019s a bit less aero so the cars would be dancing around a bit.
