A hugely successful\u00a0Scottish Golf Tourism Week<\/a> concluded\u00a0with\u00a0the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards held at\u00a0the historic National Museum of Scotland on March 12.<\/p>\n

A brilliant week in\u00a0Scotland\u2019s capital\u00a0saw Scottish Golf Tourism Week [March 10-13] bring\u00a0global partners from\u00a0the golf tourism industry\u00a0together\u00a0for the\u00a0ninth\u00a0year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Over\u00a03,700 face-to-face meetings\u00a0took place,\u00a0alongside\u00a0golf\u00a0days\u00a0at\u00a0Gullane, North Berwick\u00a0and Bruntsfield Links. Also, excursions,\u00a0familiarisation\u00a0trips\u00a0and many other networking opportunities, with the host venues of Kimpton Charlotte Square and InterContinental Edinburgh\u00a0The\u00a0George.<\/p>\n

Since\u00a0the events\u2019\u00a0launch in 2016, Scottish Golf Tourism Week has\u00a0continued to accelerate growth across Scotland\u2019s golf tourism sector, creating tens of thousands of business meetings and thousands of familiarisation trips, welcoming buyers from five continents across the globe.<\/p>\n

From Canada to China, Spain\u00a0and\u00a0the USA\u00a0\u2013 these are just some of the countries that have been represented\u00a0by tour operators\u00a0at Scottish Golf Tourism Week\u00a02026.\u00a0This year,\u00a0over\u00a090\u00a0Scottish businesses and 94 top international golf tour operators representing over\u00a035 nations from all around the world.<\/p>\n

Scottish Golf Tourism Awards<\/p>\n

On Thursday evening, finalists,\u00a0guests\u00a0and industry partners gathered for a\u00a0special evening all\u00a0focused on\u00a0highlighting\u00a0the\u00a0very\u00a0best\u00a0of\u00a0golf in Scotland\u00a0with the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards. From golf courses to clubhouses, hotels to off-the-course experiences, and all points in between, it\u00a0was\u00a0a\u00a0true\u00a0celebration of the country\u00a0and people\u00a0that gave golf to the world.<\/p>\n

The awards exist to celebrate the outstanding achievements within the Scottish golf tourism industry by recognising the finest courses, hotels and experiences that have helped shape Scotland\u2019s reputation as a world-class golfing destination.<\/p>\n

Owen Wyatt, Chief Growth Officer at event organisers DC Thomson, said: \u201cI care passionately about tourism in Scotland because it is one of the industries that keeps communities,\u00a0jobs\u00a0and local economies alive right across the country. And at DC Thomson, if we are serious about understanding Scotland\u2019s economy, we\u00a0have to\u00a0be serious about understanding the sectors that power it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"There were plenty of social events for delegates to catch up with old friends and meet new clients and contacts during Scottish Golf Tourism Week<\/p>\n

The awards ceremony, which was hosted by BBC sports broadcaster Jason Mohammad, saw\u00a015\u00a0winners\u00a0and three highly commended businesses across the various categories.\u00a0These were\u00a0chosen by an expert panel of independent judges from across the\u00a0golf and tourism\u00a0industry.<\/p>\n
