{"id":546077,"date":"2026-03-17T11:24:20","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T11:24:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/546077\/"},"modified":"2026-03-17T11:24:20","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T11:24:20","slug":"triple-eight-looking-to-kaz-penwarden-to-fill-engine-shop-leadership-vacancy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/546077\/","title":{"rendered":"Triple Eight looking to Kaz Penwarden to fill engine shop leadership vacancy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>INDUSTRY stalwart Kaz Penwarden is in line to lead the charge at Triple Eight\u2019s new in-house engine shop.<\/p>\n<p>Cam Clancy had initially been at the helm, as responsibilities for the 5.4-litre Ford Coyotes shifted from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-250-Dick-Johnson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dick Johnson<\/a> Racing-owned Motorsport Powertrains up the motorway to Banyo for 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Clancy however left his post after a relatively short period of time, and rather than look externally, Triple Eight is eager to reward Penwarden for his toiling.<\/p>\n<p>Penwarden is more familiar than anyone with the Gen3 Blue Oval motors, having operated on them back to the days of them being based out of Herrod Performance Engines, and he has impressed Triple Eight aplenty. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cKaz and Brent (Blakey) came from MPT, so they have got a lot of experience with the engines,\u201d Triple Eight team manager Mark Dutton told V8 Sleuth.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/v8-sleuth-magazine-subscription?utm_source=SRBuyButton&amp;utm_medium=website\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/v8-sleuth-magazine-issue-2-subscription_1024x1024.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPart of the takeover of us doing engines was offering everyone in the MPT engine shop a position. Two of them took it up, which was Kaz and Brent.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/RGP-2026-Dunlop-Sydney-500-_25A1196-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-251155\"  \/>Pic: Ross Gibb<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have also got a junior coming from there who has just started, in Sam (Bratt).
