Image: Supplied <\/p>\n<p>The duo have been named alongside James Moffat in a three-car Garry Rogers Motorsport attack on the March 27-29 Phillip Island opener.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019ll mark a continuation of the team\u2019s relationship with both Golding and Cameron, who\u2019ll use its famous #34 and #33 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Golding is set to drive the first Mustang Cup car imported into the country and used for promotional duties, while Cameron will debut a brand new Dark Horse R.<\/p>\n<p>The GRM trio \u2013<a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/supercars-news-triple-eight-mustang-cup-jack-perkins-earl-evans-888\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> and the Triple Eight-supported Jack Perkins<\/a> \u2013 are set to provide a strong benchmark for a range of young guns and amateurs taking part.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s really cool to team up with GRM in the all new Mustang Cup category at Phillip Island,\u201d said Golding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese cars look great. They aren\u2019t far away from the production car, but have all the right racing gear that should make the racing close and competitive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFord\u2019s initiative to find the next crop of young talent though the Mustang Cup is a fantastic opportunity for all up and coming drivers in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it is always a privilege to go racing with the GRM team. The crew there are like family to me so it will be nice to slot back into the fold.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/motorsport-news-james-moffat-tribute-livery-honours-late-father-allan-mustang-cup-australia\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">James Moffat honours late father with Mustang Cup entry<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Golding has previously raced for GRM in Supercars, S5000 and Trans Am, while Cameron has been part of the team\u2019s TCR and S5000 programs.<\/p>\n<p>Cameron said he\u2019s looking forward to piloting the #33 entry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBarry [Rogers] called me and asked if I would do Mustang Cup, and I wasn\u2019t sure to start, but when he said that I was going to be the #33, that was enough for me. I said yes straight away,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo race the #33 for GRM is the ultimate. A lot of cool drivers have raced with that, including Scott McLaughlin, Garth Tander, Lee Holdsworth and even Jamie Whincup.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was the drawcard for me. I\u2019ve raced with GRM in TCR and S5000, but never with #33. That is GRM\u2019s number and I\u2019m honoured to have my name alongside it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving Jimmy and Moff in the team is also really cool. It\u2019s going to be a great reunion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Dark Horse Rs are simple, production car style, and I can already see that it\u2019s going to be a fun weekend, racing with mates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>All three GRM drivers are currently confirmed for the opening round only.<\/p>\n<p>Mustang Cup Australia will take to Phillip Island as part of the season opener for the Shannons SpeedSeeries.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday and Sunday\u2019s races will be broadcast on Foxtel and Kayo in Australia, while international viewers can watch via Ford Racing\u2019s YouTube channel.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/t.cfjump.com\/92797\/b\/285241\" rel=\"nofollow sponsored noopener\" data-bid=\"1\" data-no-instant=\"1\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; vertical-align: middle;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/285241.gif\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Mustang Cup Australia test day at SMP.
