The Spice Girls\u2019 30th anniversary reunion has been cancelled after they failed to pull their plans together in time.<\/p>\n
Melanie C, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Geri Halliwell-Horner had been in talks, as well as Victoria Beckham, to reunite for a string of concerts to mark three decades since the release of their debut single Wannabe.<\/p>\n
But The Sun understands they failed to reach an agreement and plans for a comeback tour in 2026 have been ditched.<\/p>\n
Confirming the news during an interview on Australia\u2019s KIIS Radio, Mel C, 52, said: \u201cNo, there is no reunion.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are communicating all the time. We want to do something \u2013 who knows when.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I still feel very optimistic and I keep my fingers crossed that you will see the Spice Girls together at some point in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Sun told last April how Geri, 53, was back in touch with the band\u2019s former manager Simon Fuller and had flown out to Miami to try and agree on a deal.<\/p>\n
As recently as January, Mel C had insisted they were still in active discussions about celebrating the milestone.<\/p>\n
And even Victoria, 51, had prompted hopes she could return to the group, saying she \u201cloves\u201d the idea of a residency at Las Vegas venue Sphere.<\/p>\n
She said in October of the prospect: \u201cIt would be tempting. But could I take on a world tour? No I can\u2019t. I have a job\u2026<\/p>\n
\u201cHow good would the Spice Girls be at the Sphere! I love the idea of it. I mean I don\u2019t know if I could even still sing, I mean I was never that great!\u201d<\/p>\n
However, in recent weeks, plans have fallen apart, with just a collectable coin from the Royal Mint being announced to mark the anniversary.<\/p>\n
A planned Netflix drama based on the group was shelved last month amid tensions in the group.<\/p>\n
Mel B, 50, has become increasingly distant from her four bandmates, being notably absent from Emma\u2019s 50th birthday celebrations at Soho Farmhouse in January, and another meeting featuring the other four at Victoria\u2019s Holland Park home last month.<\/p>\n
She also missed the premiere of Victoria\u2019s Netflix docuseries in October.<\/p>\n
Hinting at tensions behind the scenes on Instagram this week, Mel B posted a video of herself from behind in a bikini, and wrote: \u201cI\u2019m walking away from the NOISE\u2026 so if that’s what your bringing you can KISS MY (peach emoji).\u201d<\/p>\n
The Spice Girls have not performed together as a five-piece since the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.<\/p>\n
They last reunited without Posh in 2019 for a sold out 13-date stadium tour of the UK and Ireland, selling 700,000 tickets and making \u00a34.4m each.<\/p>\n
