The first set was a mammoth affair, with Boulter breaking Bouzas Maneiro as the Spaniard served for it, before remarkably saving six set points in the tiebreak, winning 11-9. Boulter went on to win 7-6 (9) 6-4. The former British number one has already picked up a title this season, at the Ostrava Open at the start of last month.<\/p>\n<p>She now faces Clara Tauson, with the Dane receiving a bye in the first-round. Tauson could only make the third-round of Indian Wells as she lost to Talia Gibson in three sets. That would have been a disappointment for the 23-year-old after a strong showing in Dubai a few weeks earlier, where she reached the quarter-finals.<\/p>\n<p>Tauson leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a straight sets win at the Thoreau Tennis Open in 2022.
