It provides fans with the first look at the new show\u2019s young leading star. At the moment, the project hasn\u2019t received a full series order from the streamer. <\/p>\n<p>Who is in the Buffy the Vampire reboot set video?<\/p>\n<p>The set video offers a glimpse of lead star Ryan Kiera Armstrong, who has been tapped to follow in the footsteps of original star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/sarah-michelle-gellar\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sarah Michelle Gellar<\/a> as the franchise\u2019s newest slayer. Prior to landing the role, Armstrong was most recently seen in Disney+\u2019s Star Wars: Skeleton Crew series. Joining Armstrong in the Hulu reboot is Gellar, who will be reprising her iconic role in a recurring capacity. The pilot will also feature Faly Rakotohavana, Ava Jean, Sarah Bock, Daniel Di Tomasso and Jack Cutmore-Scott as series regulars. <\/p>\n<p>The Buffy the Vampire Slayer revival will be written and directed by Nora Zuckerman and Lila Zuckerman, who are also set to serve as showrunners. Oscar-winning filmmaker\u00a0Chlo\u00e9 Zhao\u00a0is also directing the pilot and executive producing with Gellar, Gail Berman, Fran Kuzui, Kaz Kuzi, and Dolly Parton. It is a production by 20th Television and Searchlight Television.<\/p>\n<p>Created by Joss Whedon, the original show lasted for seven seasons from 1997-2003. It revolved around the misadventures of Sarah Michelle Gellar\u2019s titular character, who juggles the desire to live a normal high-school life with her responsibilities of being a proficient hunter of demons and vampires.
