The latest Pixel Watch update is causing some hiccups, as users now report that the March 2026 update is causing some weird behavior in Fitbit step counts.<\/p>\n

Google started rolling out the March 2026 update for Pixel Watch a couple of weeks ago and, ever since, it\u2019s been causing problems with health tracking stats in Fitbit. Early on it was clear there were some problems with skin temperature and SpO2 readings<\/a>, which simply went missing for some following the update, but other stats appear to be affected too.<\/p>\n

A number of Pixel Watch owners on Reddit <\/a>have reported over the past week <\/a>or so that there are issues with step counts in Fitbit, as well as some other stats. One sees the Pixel Watch overcounting steps, with the numbers being doubled in some cases both in steps as well as other stats such as mileage. <\/p>\n

Another affected stat appears<\/a> to be calories burnt, which is similarly inflated for affected users even with minimal actual activity.<\/p>\n

The cause of this is unclear, but it\u2019s a pretty big problem for anyone using their Pixel Watch to track activity. While smartwatches should never be used for the sake of getting accurate health data, they\u2019re great for identifying trends and helping to monitor your progress as you try to increase activity.<\/p>\n

Google hasn\u2019t acknowledged the problem just yet, but we\u2019re hoping later software updates will provide a fix.<\/p>\n
