\n An AFL debutant headlines the only change to Fremantle\u2019s team of 23 to take on Melbourne in Round 2\n <\/p>\n
As announced by the Club earlier today, forward Chris Scerri will make his AFL debut on Saturday, having been named on the five-man interchange bench alongside Isaiah Dudley, Nathan O\u2019Driscoll, Corey Wagner and Karl Worner.<\/p>\n
Scerri\u2019s inclusion is the only change for the clash with the Demons, with the 19-year-old replacing Hayden Young, who was yesterday ruled out with a minor hamstring strain.<\/p>\n
Neil Erasmus and Matthew Johnson have been named on the wings, with Andrew Brayshaw in the centre.<\/p>\n
Fremantle ruck duo Sean Darcy and Luke Jackson have been handed the huge challenge against Melbourne\u2019s Max Gawn.<\/p>\n
Mason Cox, Luke Ryan and Jeremy Sharp are named as emergencies.<\/p>\n
Scerri joined began training with Fremantle in December and was added to the list during the Supplemental Selection Period in February, filling the Club\u2019s final list spot for 2026.<\/p>\n
Scerri made the move West from the Northern Bullants in late November in a bid to keep his AFL dream alive after initially being offered a train-on spot with Richmond.<\/p>\n
The same offer in purple came off the back of an impressive VFL campaign that saw Scerri win the Bullants’ Best First Year Player award in 2025.<\/p>\n
Fremantle host Melbourne on Saturday 21 March at Optus Stadium, with the match commencing at 4.35pm WST. It will be Fremantle\u2019s first home game of the season.<\/p>\n
Fans are reminded that Saturday will be the first time Fremantle supporters will be required to adhere to Optus Stadium\u2019s new SafeTix system to enter the venue.<\/p>\n
The clash will be the second of Fremantle\u2019s first three games to be shown on a delayed free-to-air broadcast.<\/p>\n
