\n\tJudith Light<\/a> has joined the cast of \u201cPresumed Innocent<\/a>\u201d Season 2 at Apple TV<\/a>, Variety has learned exclusively.<\/p>\n

\n\tLight will appear alongside previously announced season lead Rachel Brosnahan<\/a> as well as cast members Matthew Rhys, Courtney B. Vance, Fiona Shaw, Jack Reynor, John Magaro, Michael Hsu Rosen Lesley-Ann Brandt and Ji-young Yoo. Exact character details for Light are being kept under wraps. <\/p>\n

\n\tAs previously announced, Season 2 of \u201cPresumed Innocent\u201d is based on the book \u201cDissection of a Murder\u201d by Jo Murray. The book is due to be published in May, thus an exact logline for the show has yet to be released. But the description of the novel states, \u201cWhen Leila Reynolds (Brosnahan) is handed her first murder case, she\u2019s shocked at how high-profile it is: the murder of a well-respected, well-known judge. This shouldn\u2019t be the kind of case she\u2019s leading; it\u2019s way beyond her expertise. But the defendant, Jack Millman, is clear. He wants her, and only her.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLight is one of the most acclaimed actresses of her generation. She is a five-time Emmy nominee, winning the award for outstanding guest actress in a comedy in 2023 for \u201cPoker Face.\u201d She was nominated twice for her work on Amazon\u2019s \u201cTransparent\u201d and also for her roles in \u201cUgly Betty\u201d and \u201cThe Assassination Of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.\u201d Other TV credits include \u201cAll\u2019s Fair,\u201d \u201cJulia,\u201d \u201cThe Politician,\u201d and \u201cLaw & Order: SVU.\u201d Light is a highly accomplished stage actress to boot, having received back to back Tony Awards in 2012 and 2013 for \u201cOther Desert Cities\u201d and \u201cThe Assembled Parties.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tShe is repped by Gersh, Brillstein, and PMK Entertainment. <\/p>\n

\n\tDavid E. Kelley developed \u201cPresumed Innocent\u201d for television and serves as executive producer and showrunner under his David E. Kelley Productions (DEKP) banner. J.J. Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich executive produce for Bad Robot Productions. Matthew Tinker of DEKP also executive produces. Jake Gyllenhaal, who starred in Season 1, will executive produce via Nine Stories. Dee Johnson and Dustin Thomason also serves as executive producer along with Brosnahan. Scott Turow, the author of \u201cPresumed Innocent,\u201d is a co-executive producer, as is Murray. Warner Bros. Television is the studio.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPresumed Innocent\u201d Season 1 debuted to critical and popular acclaim when it launched in June 2024.
