Canberra Raiders enforcer Josh Papali\u2019i is facing a stint on the sidelines over a high shot on Bulldogs forward Sam Hughes.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old was put on report and sent to the sin bin over the incident during the Raiders\u2019 14-10 loss to the Bulldogs at GIO Stadium<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As Hughes took a hit up in the first half he was collected by the shoulder of Corey Horsburgh before Papali\u2019i came in over the top with a forceful blow to his nose.<\/p>\n

It sparked a fracas between the teams as tension rose in the first half.<\/p>\n

Papali\u2019i was subsequently charged by the match review committee with a grade two careless high tackle, but given it was only his first offence he is just facing a one-game ban. <\/p>\n

It will become two if he unsuccessfully fights the charge.<\/p>\n

Referee Adam Gee\u2019s microphone, meanwhile, picked up what appeared to be Papali\u2019i\u2019s reaction to the penalty.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s go play touch then,\u201d he could be heard saying before receiving his marching orders.<\/p>\n

Raiders skipper Joseph Tapine also found himself on report for high contact on Harry Hayes, but is only facing a fine for the grade one careless high tackle regardless of whether he takes the early plea or not.<\/p>\n

Lachlan Galvin was the only Bulldogs player to be cited from Thursday\u2019s game, hit with a grade one dangerous contact charge for what was a hip-drop type movement on Hudson Young in slippery conditions.<\/p>\n

He is looking at a $1,000 or $1,500 fine depending if he takes the early plea or not.<\/p>\n

Speaking on The Late Show with Matty Johns, former Bunnies and Roosters premiership winner Luke Keary said Papali\u2019i was in \u201cstrife\u201d.<\/p>\n

The panel, however, believed Tapine would escape punishment.<\/p>\n

\u201cTapine is bracing himself knowing that he\u2019s moved a little bit,\u201d Nathan Hindmarsh said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe hasn\u2019t really gone through with the tackle, he\u2019s been run into.\u201d<\/p>\n

Attention then turned to the Raiders after last-year\u2019s minor premiers slumped to another defeat to sit in 11th spot on the NRL ladder.<\/p>\n

With conditions torrential in Canberra on Thursday, it means Ricky Stuart\u2019s side have played three-straight matches in wet conditions.<\/p>\n

Parramatta Eels legend Nathan Hindmarsh said he feared the tough conditions could negatively impact the Raiders later in the season.<\/p>\n
