Braith Anasta has lifted the lid on Gorden Tallis\u2019 infamous fiery clash with veteran journalist Pete Badel, after the pair went toe-to-toe in an enthralling debate over Adam Reynolds<\/a>\u2019 injury. <\/p>\n

A Broncos legend Tallis sparked a furore by pointing out that it was \u201cnot good optics\u201d for Reynolds to do media for Fox Sports a day after he suffered a rib injury, which eventually ruled him out of the Grand Final rematch with the Storm. <\/p>\n

In gripping debate Badel challenged Tallis\u2019 theory that a rib injury would not be helped by jumping on a plane to go to Sydney the day after, but the Raging Bull stuck to his guns in a fiery back and forth. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a great watch and the situation was real and Gordie ain\u2019t letting it go, but it\u2019s divided the rugby league landscape,\u201d Beau Ryan said on Triple M. <\/p>\n

Anasta had the best seat in the house as host of NRL 360 and noted that Badel was the best journalist to have opposite Tallis in the electric encounter. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf there was any journo who would take him on head-to-head and face-to-face, it was Pete Badel and he delivered,\u201d Anasta said on Triple M. <\/p>\n

\u201cPete didn\u2019t back down. And Gordie is very intimidating not only as a player. He is the Raging Bull.\u201d <\/p>\n

Anasta revealed he was so enthralled by the debate between Tallis and Badel that he forgot he was hosting the show for a brief moment. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe had the eyes and his voice was trembling and I\u2019m sort of sitting there and he gets emotional Gordie,\u201d Anasta explained. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I\u2019m sitting there thinking, \u2018This is great TV because I\u2019m enjoying this\u2019. I kind of tuned out for a while.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like I was at home on the couch. But I also had to let it roll because I knew it was getting better and better and I didn\u2019t know when to jump in. It was quite uncomfortable.\u201d <\/p>\n

The Daily Telegraph\u2019s Michael Carayannis was the fourth member of the panel and Anasta revealed that the pair were struggling to keep it together as they watched in amazement. <\/p>\n

\u201cMick Carayannis was on at the same time and we\u2019re looking at each other and I was that kid at school that laughed in awkward situations or when I was getting in trouble, I\u2019d laugh at the teacher and get in more trouble,\u201d Anasta said.<\/p>\n

Madge responds to Tallis criticism | 04:48<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were trying not to piss ourselves because we\u2019re going, how good is this? <\/p>\n

\u201cWe were trying not to laugh in a very serious situation, but it was real and they didn\u2019t see eye-to-eye.\u201d <\/p>\n

However, Anasta spared a thought for Reynolds, who was only fulfilling a commitment he made with Fox Sports and noted the Broncos skipper needs to look to the future as he will retire at the end of the season. <\/p>\n

\u201cI felt sorry for Reyno a little bit, because when you\u2019re talking about someone and he hasn\u2019t said a word on the situation,\u201d Anasta said. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I was okay with him coming down and he was on the show with me and I knew his injury wasn\u2019t terrible, but it was okay and he might miss a week, but he\u2019ll be back the week after. <\/p>\n
