Police are searching for a man who stabbed a 71-year-old man three times in an early morning attack in inner Melbourne, a day after a woman was stabbed by a stranger at a shopping centre.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Investigators said the older man was walking near Crichton Reserve in Port Melbourne about 5:20am when he was approached by an unknown man.<\/p>\n

He was stabbed three times.<\/p>\n

The victim was walking along Liardet St when he was attacked.<\/p>\n

Police said the victim fled to a nearby cafe on Bay Street where he raised the alarm, and was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

On Thursday a 16-year-old boy was charged after allegedly stabbing a 25-year-old woman<\/a> inside a shopping centre in Melbourne’s south-east.<\/p>\n

The woman was walking to work at M-City Shopping Centre in Clayton around 7:50am when she was attacked, and was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.<\/p>\n

The boy, from the Stonnington area, was charged with a number of offences including intentionally causing injury, and committing an indictable offence while on bail.\u00a0<\/p>\n
