\n\tAs fans and loved ones mourn the death of Nicholas Brendon<\/a>, his Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/a> co-stars are paying tribute.<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing Brendon\u2019s death at age 54<\/a>, the cast of the WB series (1997-2003) remembered the actor who played Xander.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMy Sweet Nicky, thank you for years of laughter, love and Dodgers,\u201d wrote Alyson Hannigan<\/a>, who starred as Xander\u2019s best friend Willow Rosenberg. \u201cI will think of you every time I see a rocking chair. I love you. RIP\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tEmma Caulfield, who played Xander\u2019s ex-demon ex-fianc\u00e9e Anya, shared a video of Brendon discussing their duet \u2018I\u2019ll Never Tell\u2019 from the Season 6 musical episode, \u2018Once More, With Feeling\u2019.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMy heart is heavy,\u201d she wrote on her Instagram Story. \u201cI can\u2019t put into words just how this has hit me. Let this clip of us giving it our all be a placeholder. Rest Nicky. Rest. I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBrendon starred on the Joss Whedon-created series\u2019 seven-season run as Xander Harris, the nerdy best friend of the titular slayer (Sarah Michelle Gellar), helping her save the world on multiple occasions with their friend Willow.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast February, fellow \u201cScooby gang\u201d member Michelle Trachtenberg died at age 39<\/a>, after portraying Buffy\u2019s younger sister Dawn Summers on the show.<\/p>\n

\n\tA co-star of Brendon\u2019s confirmed his death to Deadline on Friday, as his family shared a statement<\/a>. \u201cWe are heartbroken to share the passing of our brother and son, Nicholas Brendon,\u201d they said. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe passed in his sleep of natural causes. Most people know Nicky for his work as an actor, and for the characters he brought to life over the years. In recent years Nicky has found his passion in painting and art. Nicky loved to share his enthusiastic talent with his family, friends and fans. He was passionate, sensitive, and endlessly driven to create.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe family continued, \u201cThose who truly knew him understood that his art was one of the purest reflections of who he was. While it\u2019s no secret that Nicholas had struggles in the past, he was on medications and treatment to manage his diagnosis, and he was optimistic about the future at the time of his passing. Our family asks for privacy during this time as we grieve his loss and celebrate the life of a man who lived with intensity, imagination, and heart. Thank you to everyone who has shown love and support.\u201d<\/p>\n
