{"id":555684,"date":"2026-03-21T21:37:10","date_gmt":"2026-03-21T21:37:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/555684\/"},"modified":"2026-03-21T21:37:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-21T21:37:10","slug":"netflix-sets-powers-adult-animated-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/555684\/","title":{"rendered":"Netflix Sets &#8220;Powers&#8221; Adult Animated Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/netflix-sets-powers-adult-animated-series.jpg\" data-caption=\"Artwork courtesy of Dark Horse Books\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/netflix-sets-powers-adult-animated-series.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"netflix-sets-powers-adult-animated-series\"\/><\/a>Artwork courtesy of Dark Horse Books<\/p>\n<p>Netflix is reportedly developing an adult animated series adaptation of the long-running Dark Horse Comics title \u201cPowers\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Creators Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming are reportedly involved in the developing project with Bendis penning the pilot and Oeming involved in the show\u2019s visual development.<\/p>\n<p>A blend of police procedural and superheroes, the series follows two Chicago homicide detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, who work in cases involving super powers.<\/p>\n<p>Dark Horse Entertainment\u2018s Keith Goldberg and Chris Tongue will be executive producing.<\/p>\n<p> Adult animation has been a successful genre for series with Amazon\u2019s adaptation of Robert Kirkman\u2019s \u201cInvincible\u201d comics scoring rave reviews and currently in its fourth season.<\/p>\n<p>The Eisner Award-winning \u201cPowers\u201d was previously adapted to the screen in the mid-2010s as a live-action series for the PlayStation Network which was trying its hand at original series programming.
