Twenty-year-old Martin Landaluce<\/a> earned a milestone win Sunday when he upset Karen Khachanov<\/a> 6-3, 7-6(2) in the third round of the Miami Open presented by Itau<\/a>. With the victory, the #NextGenATP star advanced to the fourth round of an ATP Masters 1000 event for the first time. <\/p>\n In his maiden Lexus ATP Head2Head meeting against Khachanov, the No. 151 player in the PIF ATP Rankings played with authority and composure. Landaluce won 78 per cent (23\/32) of his first-serve points, according to Infosys ATP Stats, to seal the upset in one hour and 32 minutes.<\/p>\n The result is the latest highlight in what is quickly becoming a defining week for Landaluce in Miami. Having trailed Thiago Agustin Tirante<\/a> by a set and a break in the final round of qualifying, he nearly did not earn his place in the main draw.<\/p>\n But Landaluce has been on a tear since, beating in-form American veteran Marcos Giron<\/a> in the first round of the main draw and upsetting 17th seed Luciano Darderi<\/a> in the second round.
