The Brewers were able to kick things off pretty early against touted lefty Jamie Arnold. Luis Pena singled to score Brewers top prospect Jesus Made. Blake Burke\u2019s single made it 2-0 and a third run would be tacked on against Arnold via passed ball.<\/p>\n
In the bottom of the 2nd, the A\u2019s tied it right back up, starting with Joshua Kuroda-Grauer\u2019s double which scored Junior Perez, followed by two RBI singles thanks to Shotaro Morii and Henry Botle.<\/p>\n
After the Brewers reclaimed the lead in the 3rd, Breyson Guedez put a charge in one, sending it deep and out for a two-run dinger.<\/p>\n
5-4 A\u2019s, then 7-4 A\u2019s after Cole Conn\u2019s two-run shot!<\/p>\n
On the pitching side, Kade Morris was brought in after a rough first three frames by Jamie Arnold and Eduarniel Nunez. But unlike his teammates, Morris was absolutely dominant. The proof? 6 striekouts and 2 hits allowed across 4 innings of work. His curveball was something worth gawking at. It had Brewers\u2019 hitters baffled, unable time it up. The only damage against the righty came off the bat of Eric Bitonti in the top of the 8th. He\u2019d take him deep to right field on a 2-0 sinker.<\/p>\n
Steven Echavarria followed Morris and struggled to ride the momentum of his success. Darrien Miller\u2019s homer off of him made it 7-6. Two RBI doubles by Brady Ebel and Andrew Fischer gave the Brewers the lead going into the bottom of the 8th.<\/p>\n
Thankfully the A\u2019s still had some fight in them. Nate Nankil tied it up on a single to center. The final run of the game and the one that\u2019d clinch a victory for the A\u2019s prospects came courtesy of a passed ball which scored Leo De Vries.<\/p>\n
Echavarria returned for the 9th and looked much sharper. He\u2019d shut down the Brewers 1-2-3, with the help of a nice diving play by Leo De Vries.<\/p>\n
