“I was hoping it was some sort of nerve thing, but once that wore off, it became a lot sorer and a bit more isolated.<\/p>\n
“I’m not exactly sure of what it is, but I don’t think it is going to be minor.”<\/p>\n
Port Adelaide confirmed later on Monday that Rozee would likely require surgery, with a timeline on his return to become clearer after consultation.<\/p>\n
“The one positive is hopefully I get the second half of the season, if it’s not a great result, which I am eyeing off at the moment,” Rozee said.<\/p>\n
Rozee was among a spate of big names to suffer hamstring injuries, including Gold Coast’s gun recruit Christian Petracca, Richmond stalwarts Tom Lynch and skipper Toby Nankervis, Adelaide signing Callum Ah Chee and St Kilda’s Anthony Caminiti.<\/p>\n
The Tigers said Lynch and Nankervis would be unavailable for at least the next month, with the latter facing some six to eight weeks out.<\/p>\n
Ah Chee is on a similar timeline, while his Crows teammate Rory Laird (calf) faces only one or two weeks out and Josh Worrell (calf) will be tested this week.<\/p>\n
Port Adelaide’s Miles Bergman could play again as soon as round four despite his ankle sprain and bruised heel.<\/p>\n
Essendon defender Mason Redman has suffered a meniscus tear in his left knee and is set for surgery that will keep him out of action for an extended period.<\/p>\n
“It is a frustrating setback,” Bombers football boss Daniel McPherson said.<\/p>\n
“But ‘Red’ is as tough as they come, and we know he will attack his rehab with his usual professionalism and commitment.<\/p>\n
“We all look forward to seeing him back out there once he’s fully recovered.”<\/p>\n

Gold Coast will challenge the two-match ban handed to young gun Bailey Humphrey for rough conduct.<\/p>\n
The 21-year-old forward was charged over a sling tackle on Richmond’s Maurice Rioli during the Suns’ comfortable 68-point win on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The AFL match review officer graded the incident as careless conduct, high impact and high contact.<\/p>\n
Gold Coast coach Damien Hardwick was quick to defend his player, telling reporters post-match that Humphrey should not have faced any sanction.<\/p>\n
“No, I wouldn’t have thought so. It should have been holding the ball,” Hardwick said.<\/p>\n
As it stands, Humphrey is set to miss the Suns’ clashes with Melbourne and Sydney after the bye in round three.<\/p>\n
The Demons were one of several Victorian clubs interested in recruiting Humphrey when he explored his options for a trade to his home state last year.<\/p>\n
Humphrey met with Melbourne coach Steven King but Gold Coast held the player to his contract, which runs until the end of 2028.<\/p>\n
Already without Brownlow medallist Matt Rowell (finger), the Suns have lost gun recruit Christian Petracca (hamstring) for the Dees clash and will be desperate to clear Humphrey at the tribunal.<\/p>\n
One thing in Humphrey’s favour in the hearing will be the fact Rioli was not seriously hurt in the sling tackle.<\/p>\n
“He was fine. He played out the game \u2026 and he was one of our better contributors in the last quarter,” Tigers coach Adem Yze said post match.<\/p>\n
