Speaking of his surprise at the reaction of both the judges and the crowd, Paul said: “We just went there in our little car with our little drum kit, and we set our drums up like we do when we do a gig, and then 2,500 people stood up and applauded.<\/p>\n
“We didn’t really know how people were going to respond, because the thing with Nancy’s performance is there were no gimmicks. <\/p>\n
“It was just Nancy playing the drums really well, and we didn’t know how the crowd would respond to it – and they just went crazy.”<\/p>\n
Asked about her favourite part of the whole experience, Nancy said: “I loved it when the drum kit came out and the audience was, like, ‘oh she’s a drummer’.<\/p>\n
“But then, I also loved it when Simon was, like, ‘she’s really, really good’.<\/p>\n
