She believes it has been breached for \u201ccommercial purposes\u201d and is considering all her legal options.<\/p>\n<p class=\"zZbQRyor\" style=\"display:none\">She is also upset about the unrelated online sale of T-shirts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/sport\/jonah-lomus-top-moments-in-his-words\/JIK4TSXDRCWPCWE7Z3IRQ243AE\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/sport\/jonah-lomus-top-moments-in-his-words\/JIK4TSXDRCWPCWE7Z3IRQ243AE\/\">featuring the rugby great\u2019s<\/a> face and branded the \u2018Lomu Tee\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<a class=\"ad__link\" data-test-ui=\"ad__link\" href=\"https:\/\/advertising.nzme.co.nz\/\" data-ad-env=\"both\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Advertise with NZME.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"zZbQRyor\" style=\"display:none\">Lomu, 40, died in 2015 from a heart attack caused by kidney failure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"zZbQRyor\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cThe Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand exists for anyone and everyone to see where ownership rights sit. Yet it\u2019s blatantly obvious people choose to ignore it,\u201d Lomu told the Herald, calling it \u201cTrademark 101\u2033.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m over people constantly exploiting Jonah, thinking they can use him to fill their pockets <\/p>\n<p>Nadene Lomu<\/p>\n<p class=\"zZbQRyor\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cThe boys and I are well aware that tributes will always be made about their dad &#8211; and deservingly so, but here are two examples of where moneymakers should have known better.<\/p>\n<p class=\"zZbQRyor\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cI\u2019m over people constantly exploiting Jonah, thinking they can use him to fill their pockets. No one owns the rights other than Brayley, Dhyreille and myself.<\/p>\n<p class=\"zZbQRyor\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cI would never steal another person\u2019s rights and family possessions the way people keep doing this to us and taking from our sons. Thus, there is little that Nadene can do here to prevent the use of his name in this book.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amicable decision on Lomu trademark<\/p>\n<p class=\"zZbQRyor\" style=\"display:none\">Lomu\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/nz\/jonah-lomu-doco-gets-legal-green-light-after-trademark-ruling-goes-against-widow\/CXDWS7KHWVGNZJ5BAEFEM35H3U\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/nz\/jonah-lomu-doco-gets-legal-green-light-after-trademark-ruling-goes-against-widow\/CXDWS7KHWVGNZJ5BAEFEM35H3U\/\">dispute with lawyer Chris Darlow<\/a> has also been resolved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"zZbQRyor\" style=\"display:none\">Darlow and Nadene Lomu had been involved in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/nz\/jonah-lomus-estate-executor-says-widows-trademarks-were-unauthorised\/GGY2FDW4JFARVH5VMWGGQBQVPE\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/nz\/jonah-lomus-estate-executor-says-widows-trademarks-were-unauthorised\/GGY2FDW4JFARVH5VMWGGQBQVPE\/\">a legal dispute surrounding the estate and who is responsible for managing Lomu\u2019s assets<\/a>, including intellectual property rights related to his name and image, including the production of a documentary about his life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"zZbQRyor\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cBraylee, Dhyreille and I are extremely pleased to announce that after almost a decade since our devastating loss of our beloved Jonah, our hearts will never be the same; however, Chris Darlow and I with the support of Braylee and Dhyreille have reconciled our differences amicably,\u201d Nadene Lomu said.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<a class=\"ad__link\" data-test-ui=\"ad__link\" href=\"https:\/\/advertising.nzme.co.nz\/\" data-ad-env=\"both\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Advertise with NZME.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"zZbQRyor\" style=\"display:none\">Darlow added: \u201cI\u2019m unable to speak to the media further on Lomu matters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"zZbQRyor\" style=\"display:none\">Joseph Los\u2019e is an award-winning journalist and joined NZME in 2022 as Kaupapa M\u0101ori Editor.
