{"id":560506,"date":"2026-03-24T05:54:14","date_gmt":"2026-03-24T05:54:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/560506\/"},"modified":"2026-03-24T05:54:14","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T05:54:14","slug":"international-flavour-explored-for-gold-coast-500","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/560506\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018International flavour\u2019 explored for Gold Coast 500"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SUPERCARS has discussed the possibility of adding an international flavour back into the annual Gold Coast event.<\/p>\n<p>Surfers Paradise famously hosted IndyCar\/Champ Car for the best part of two decades before becoming a Supercars-led spectacle from 2009 onwards.<\/p>\n<p>V8 Sleuth understands there had at least been some investigation into bringing a NASCAR-type of demonstration to town, although the topic has seemingly gone cold more recently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re looking at all of our Gold Coast plans,\u201d Supercars CEO James Warburton recently told V8 Sleuth.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/1-43-scale-2022-bathurst-1000-gen-3-launch-livery-chevrolet-camaro-model?utm_source=SRBuyButton&amp;utm_medium=website\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/ACD43C22A_1_1024x1024.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the things we\u2019re looking at with every event is how we can really accelerate the fan experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019d love to look at something on the Gold Coast which had a bit more of an international flavour to it, but there\u2019s nothing to report at this stage other than that we\u2019re active in discussions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we can get something up or a demo of some description, something exciting for our fans, like we saw in Adelaide obviously with the F1 car.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we could do something similar, that would be pretty cool.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 will take place across October 23-25.<\/p>\n<p>James Moffat on the ridiculous 2014 Bathurst 1000 finish<\/p>\n<p>IT will go down in the books as one of the wildest races in the storied history of the Bathurst 1000, with The Undercut\u2019s James Moffat right in the heart of the action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"SUPERCARS has discussed the possibility of adding an international flavour back into the annual Gold Coast event.
