Through their unwavering spirit, talent and determination, they blazed a trail for women&#8217;s football around the world.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are sorry that a ban on women&#8217;s football was introduced in 1921 and not revoked until 1971.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"The front of a magazine depicts a group of women celebrating as they get off a plane, one is holding a bottle of champagne and another is holding a trophy.
