{"id":560975,"date":"2026-03-24T11:18:18","date_gmt":"2026-03-24T11:18:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/560975\/"},"modified":"2026-03-24T11:18:18","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T11:18:18","slug":"supercars-mechanic-harry-alexander-set-to-join-shane-van-gisbergen-nascar-crew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/560975\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars mechanic Harry Alexander set to join Shane van Gisbergen NASCAR crew"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AN up-and-coming Aussie in the motorsport industry is set to join Shane van Gisbergen\u2019s NASCAR charge.<\/p>\n<p>Harry Alexander has signed with Trackhouse Racing to operate on the #97 Chevrolet, pending visa approvals to facilitate his relocation.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old mechanic spent the past seven seasons with Supercars squad Brad Jones Racing, most recently on the team\u2019s flagship <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-829-Andre-Heimgartner\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Andr\u00e9 Heimgartner<\/a>-driven entry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was originally supposed to start my role over there in January, but due to some visa issues I\u2019m still here,\u201d Alexander told V8 Sleuth.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/1-43-scale-2021-bathurst-1000-supercars-gen3-prototype-launch-chevrolet-camaro-model?utm_source=SRBuyButton&amp;utm_medium=website\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/ACD43C21A_1_1024x1024.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrackhouse Racing have expressed that they\u2019re keen to have me still, whenever I can get over there, as a mechanic on the #97 car.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Outside of the Supercars bubble, Alexander has dabbled in sprintcars and it was that discipline which actually put him on the path to fulfilling his long-time NASCAR passion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went to the US to experience some World of Outlaws stuff and met some people along the way and then sort of got in touch with Bryce Seales at Trackhouse,\u201d Alexander explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI actually kind of met him through James Small at JGR (Joe Gibbs Racing).<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/2025_Supercars_Rd1_PaceImages_12021-Enhanced-NR-Social-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-252351\"  \/>Harry Alexander with Andr\u00e9 Heimgartner at the 2025 Sydney 500.
