But the 23-year-old played down the meeting.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was something we had planned a long time ago \u2013 in December,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlanned to play a bit of golf over there, had a couple of engagements and then coincidentally the VFL were playing their first game so didn\u2019t line up too well! <\/p>\n
\u201cIt was nice to get over there.\u201d<\/p>\n
The comments come after Devils CEO Brendon Gale also played down the \u201ccoincidental\u201d catch up.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s Roger Curtis, he\u2019s on our board, and his house is about three down the road from that coffee shop,\u201d Gale said.<\/p>\n

Daicos remains a big Devils target, according to reports, given the club is set to have a $5 million sign-on bonus outside their salary cap to use over their first two seasons to attract big names.<\/p>\n
But another name linked to a potential Tasmania deal is injured Giant Tom Green.<\/p>\n
Green remains sidelined for the 2026 season after tearing his ACL pre-season, but has been linked to the new AFL club.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s got time on his hands,\u201d AFL 360 co-host Garry Lyon said.<\/p>\n
GWS teammate Toby Greene said Tasmania would be \u201cmad not to consider\u201d Green.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not surprised that Tom\u2019s talked about. But I\u2019m pretty confident he\u2019s going to be a Giant for life. A long-term player, a long-term captain of the footy club,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
