<\/p>\nThe new stadium being built for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games at Victoria Park will be situated in a “central position” near Gilchrist Avenue.<\/p>\n
The Queensland government will reveal the precise location of the 63,000-seat arena on Wednesday, as well as unveil the first early designs of the stadium.<\/p>\n
The images feature the interior of the stadium, including shaded seating, giant digital screens, and a cantilevered roof.<\/p>\n
The size and shape of the field of play will be equivalent in size to the Melbourne Cricket Ground.<\/p>\n
Preparatory works to build the stadium will also kick off soon, once the land is transferred to the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) on June 1.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, the government announced it had selected Australian firms Cox and Hassell to design the stadium, alongside Japanese group Azusa Sekkei.<\/p>\n
The firms worked on Perth’s Optus Stadium and redeveloped the Adelaide Oval and the MCG.<\/p>\n
The government has confirmed the arena will be located in a “central position” near Gilchrist Avenue \u2014 in a bid to connect it to existing transport infrastructure.<\/p>\n
The north-eastern zone of the park is expected to feature a convergence of spectator entry points for the sporting precinct.<\/p>\n
The stadium is slated to cost about $3.6 billion, and forms part of the $7.1 billion infrastructure plan for the 2032 Games.<\/p>\n
It will also have an east-west configuration, which the government says was decided upon following discussions with the AFL and cricket.<\/p>\n
