{"id":562373,"date":"2026-03-25T02:18:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T02:18:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/562373\/"},"modified":"2026-03-25T02:18:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T02:18:09","slug":"sydney-teen-charged-with-terrorism-offences-after-allegedly-being-found-with-weapons-extremist-material","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/562373\/","title":{"rendered":"Sydney teen charged with terrorism offences after allegedly being found with weapons, extremist material"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A teenage boy in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.9news.com.au\/sydney\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"Sydney\">Sydney<\/a> could face 15 years behind bars after being charged with several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.9news.com.au\/terrorism\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"terrorism\">terrorism<\/a> offences.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.9news.com.au\/police\" target=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"Police\">Police<\/a> will allege the boy, aged 16, held a &#8220;mixed ideology plan&#8221; and had plans to carry out acts of violence after analysing extremist material found on a computer he allegedly owned.<\/p>\n<p>Investigations into the boy began last year when police searched a home in the Inner West, where a gel blaster and a flick knife were found.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/9d39b898-a5d6-4479-ba20-40319266dfed.jpeg\"   alt=\"\"\/>Police allege material on a laptop found at a Sydney home showed intentions to carry out acts of violence.
