New Found Glory<\/a> Guitarist Chad Gilbert has had three more tumours<\/a> removed from his brain amid his long battle with rare adrenal cancer.<\/p>\n

The 45-year-old rockstar and father was taken back to hospital \ufeffon February 23 after he lost control of his left hand during a show in Nashville<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He said his leg got weaker “by the day,” which led to him going back into treatment.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Gilbert took to Instagram<\/a> in a combined post with his wife, Lisa Cimorelli, to explain that a CT scan had uncovered new tumours in his brain.<\/p>\n

“On February 27, I had successful brain surgery and have been recovering in the hospital since. I regained function of my left hand immediately,” he wrote.<\/p>\n

“\ufeffMy radiation oncologist described it like this: ‘this is not a fatal blow and not the end of your story, just the beginning of a new chapter.’<\/p>\n

“My recovery has been bumpy at times but I’m feeling much better now and getting stronger by the day.<\/p>\n

“Thankful to everyone who’s checked in on me and helped my family during this lengthy and challenging journey.”<\/p>\n

His post included pictures of him recovering in hospital, with his wife at his bedside. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Cimorelli also took to her Instagram stories, sharing that Gilbert was recovering quicker than expected. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Gilbert was diagnosed with the rare condition in 2021.<\/p>\n

His diagnosis was made public by his wife Lisa in December 2021, when she shared the “traumatic” week that led to his diagnosis of adrenal cancer.<\/p>\n

“\ufeffI found my husband unresponsive in our bed December 5th after I thought he was just sick and sleeping in way too late,” she wrote in a post on Instagram at the time. <\/p>\n

“Called 911 because I couldn’t wake him up and he was making a strange gurgling sound, then had to perform CPR on him until paramedics could come.<\/p>\n

“His blood sugar mysteriously dropped to 20 overnight and he was almost dead when I found him.<\/p>\n

“He was revived with a sugar IV and then taken to the hospital in an ambulance. After that he was in the ICU for a week because he couldn’t survive without a blood pressure drip and a sugar drip.<\/p>\n

“An angel of a doctor diagnosed him just from his extreme symptoms with a rare tumour called a pheochromocytoma, a tumour that grows on the adrenal gland and secretes hormones that drive your blood pressure way up and eat your glucose (blood sugar).”<\/p>\n

At the time, doctors realised his tumour was malignant and had spread to his liver, prompting them to remove half of his liver and his right adrenal gland. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Since his original diagnosis, the rock star has been in and out of the hospital, dealing with the condition. \ufeff<\/p>\n

New Found Glory are a American pop-punk band that formed in 1997. They are often referred to as the “godfathers” of pop-punk, as they are credited with defining the genre in the early 2000s.<\/p>\n

\ufeffGilbert shares a four-year-old daughter with Cimorelli, who they welcomed in July 2021.<\/p>\n

The pair were married on March 10, 2020.<\/p>\n
