A sobbing Savannah Guthrie said she was in \u201cagony\u201d over her mom Nancy\u2019s disappearance<\/a> during an intimate sit-down with \u201cToday\u201d show host and friend, Hoda Kotb<\/a>. <\/p>\n

On Wednesday\u2019s episode of the \u201cToday\u201d show, Kotb, Craig Melvin, Carson Daly and Al Roker announced that Savannah had sat down for her first on-camera interview following her mom\u2019s disappearance.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has now been 53 days since Nancy Guthrie was taken from her home in the middle of the night,\u201d Melvin kick-started the conversation. \u201cAnd Hoda, yesterday, you got the chance to spend some time with our girl. You sat down with Savannah \u2014 her first interview since her mom\u2019s disappearance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Savannah Guthrie sat down for her first on-camera interview after the disappearance of her mom, Nancy Guthrie.<\/p>\n

She sobbed as she told Hoda Kotb, \u201cSomeone needs to do the right thing, we are in agony. We are in agony. It is unbearable.\u201d Today\/NBC<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you can imagine, it was a very emotional conversation,\u201d Kotb \u2014 who has returned to the \u201cToday\u201d show<\/a> as Savannah remains in Arizona<\/a> \u2014 noted. \u201cWe\u2019re going to have the whole thing for you tomorrow and Friday. But first, we wanted to bring you one of the moments of the interview where Savannah sent a message to anybody who may have some information.\u201d<\/p>\n

The clip then showed a distraught Savannah, sitting across from Kotb, tears streaming down her face.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomeone needs to do the right thing, we are in agony. We are in agony,\u201d the 54-year-old said shakily. \u201cIt is unbearable.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd to think of what she went through, I wake up every night in the middle of the night, every night, and in the darkness, I imagine her terror, and it is unthinkable, but those thoughts demand to be thought and I will not hide my face, but she needs to come home now,\u201d Savannah added as a tearful Kotb agreed. <\/p>\n

Savannah admitted to imagining what her mom went through every night while chatting to Kotb. Today\/NBC<\/p>\n

When asked by Daly how she was doing, Kotb sadly said she personally was doing \u201cOK.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a desperation and also a steeliness about Savannah. I mean, she\u2019s hoping that somebody \u2014 whoever this person is \u2014 will see something, say something,\u201d she continued. <\/p>\n

Kotb then teased the rest of the interview, explaining that Savannah talks about the investigation, her faith and how she\u2019s getting through the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was sorta marveling that she was able to sit there with an outfit on, have a conversation and also just have direct thoughts about what sees going forward,\u201d she added. <\/p>\n

Kotb told her \u201cToday\u201d show co-hosts, \u201cThere is a desperation and also a steeliness about Savannah. I mean, she\u2019s hoping that somebody \u2014 whoever this person is \u2014 will see something, say something.\u201d Today\/NBC<\/p>\n

Kotb has been sitting in for Savannah while she remains in Arizona. Today\/NBC<\/p>\n

Daly chimed in, calling it \u201cheartwrenching\u201d to watch \u201csomeone you love so much still post-50 days of this tragic event in this tortured limbo state, yet still show so much resilience and grace through it all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one is stealing her joy,\u201d Kotb insisted. <\/p>\n

\u201cTo her point, our only hope right now is that someone who is watching, someone who is listening, does the right thing, picks up the phone,\u201d Melvin added before \u201curging\u201d people to reach out to the FBI if they have any information. <\/p>\n

The emotional interview will air in two parts, starting on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Nancy disappeared from her Tucson, Arizona home on Feb. 1. Instagram\/savannahguthrie<\/p>\n

Horrifying home security footage showed a masked and armed person tampering with Nancy\u2019s door camera. FBI<\/p>\n

On Feb. 1, Nancy, 84, was reported missing from her Tucson home<\/a> after failing to attend a virtual church service.<\/p>\n

Shortly after, the FBI\u00a0released horrifying home security camera photos<\/a>\u00a0of an armed and masked person outside of Nancy\u2019s door the night she disappeared.<\/p>\n

In the\u00a0videos and photos<\/a>, the man stood on Nancy\u2019s front porch, wearing gloves, as he tampered with her door camera.<\/p>\n

Though several\u00a0people have been detained<\/a>\u00a0amid this investigation, they were released after it was proved they had nothing to do with Nancy\u2019s disappearance.<\/p>\n

Since then, Savannah expressed that she and her family\u00a0have accepted that Nancy may be dead<\/a>, as they offered $1 million for her \u201cmiracle\u201d return.
