{"id":564806,"date":"2026-03-26T03:54:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-26T03:54:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/564806\/"},"modified":"2026-03-26T03:54:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T03:54:08","slug":"ahepa-sydney-nsw-fundraiser-raise-10000-for-cancer-research-initiatives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/564806\/","title":{"rendered":"AHEPA Sydney &#038; NSW fundraiser raise $10,000 for cancer research initiatives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"bodyParagaph\">A High Tea fundraising event organised by Philanthropy &#8211; AHEPA Sydney &amp; NSW raised a total of $10,000 for cancer research projects led by Professor Vasso Apostolopoulos at RMIT.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodyParagaph\">The internationally recognised scientist addressed attendees on medical advances, prevention and early detection, noting that while vaccines exist for some cancers, funding remains a major barrier to making treatments widely available.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodyParagaph\">AHEPA Sydney &amp; NSW President Nia Gitsas described the result as a strong achievement and thanked attendees, organisations and businesses for their support.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodyParagaph\">Held on 8 March, International Women\u2019s Day, the event highlighted the leadership of women across the organisation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodyParagaph\">Philanthropy President Hrisoula Tsambazi noted the all-female presence among speakers and organisers, marking the group\u2019s first major event since its establishment under the newly structured AHEPA Sydney &amp; NSW.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodyParagaph\">Media Release<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodyParagaph\">Great Result at Philanthropy\u2019s Fundraiser for Cancer Research<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodyParagaph\">The fundraising High Tea event organised by Philanthropy &#8211; AHEPA Sydney &amp; NSW over the weekend was a resounding success achieving its participation and money targets.
