Former Fremantle<\/a> and GWS<\/a> winger Tommy Sheridan has revealed he feared for his life during a trip to the hospital after knocking himself out in his sleep.<\/p>\n

The AFL<\/a> player turned podcaster was sporting a black eye when he recorded his FAF Fridays show with former Giants teammate Dylan Buckley on Friday, and explained why straight away.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, this is what\u2019s happened. I\u2019ll keep it up and about because when I told a few people, they get a bit flat,\u201d he told the Footy and Friends-Ausmerican Aces collaboration show.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve knocked myself out in my sleep, which is not great. Don\u2019t know how.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then I\u2019ve gone back to sleep and I\u2019ve gone to the bathroom later on, then fainted, then hit my head on the tiles.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was in emergency all day Tuesday, it was actually quite serious.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was with my mum all day. I had to get brain tests; ECG, bloods \u2014 all good.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust don\u2019t know what\u2019s happened. Absolutely just made a meal of myself on Tuesday morning at all hours. Horror, horror.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old, who played 81 games for the Dockers between 2012 and 2018, plus another two for the Giants in 2019 and 2020, said he has his carpet floor \u2014 not the tiles \u2014 to thank for the mark underneath his left eye.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s actually carpet burn, so I must have just fell out of bed and just done \u2018the worm\u2019 (on the floor),\u201d Sheridan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I live on my own. I\u2019ve just got no idea what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sheridan insisted he is OK now, but not before a couple of nervous moments on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m all good, I\u2019m fine. It\u2019s just, it was quite scary Tuesday,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSitting in emergency, if you want really just that reality check, and then going to get your brain scanned, your heart done, your bloods, and then waiting for the doctor to come back five hours later \u2014 I was sitting there going, \u2018F***, this could be it. This could be it\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
