Tyson Fury gave an interesting response when asked whether he\u2019d be up for fighting British heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma.<\/p>\n

Both Fury<\/a>, 37, and Itauma, 21, are currently preparing for fights, with the former set to return to the ring against Arslanbek Makhmudov on 11 April, while the latter faces Jermaine Franklin in Manchester this Saturday (28 March).<\/p>\n

The pair are at opposite ends of their careers, with Fury having twice reigned as heavyweight champion with 37 professional fights to his name, winning 34 of them.<\/p>\n

His only defeats came at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk in May and December 2024, which resulted in Fury temporarily retiring.<\/p>\n

As for Itauma, he currently boasts a perfect record of 13 wins from as many fights, with 11 coming by way of knockout.<\/p>\n

The Commonwealth heavyweight champion is widely considered to be the hottest prospect in UK boxing and has been tipped to win a version of the heavyweight world title in the coming years.<\/p>\n

Likely future opponents include former WBA heavyweight champion and fellow Brit Daniel Dubois, as well as reigning WBA title holder Fabio Wardley.<\/p>\n

But could a fight with Fury could also be a possible future match-up.<\/p>\n

The idea was put to Fury by the Metro<\/a>, with the Morecambe-based fighter saying: \u201cHe ain\u2019t on my radar. He ain\u2019t won nothing, he ain\u2019t done nothing.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got his own career to think about. He is 21, I\u2019ll be a grandfather by the time he\u2019s up there. By the time he is 30, I\u2019ll be a grandad, guaranteed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said before, I\u2019m not going to fight Itauma because he is a young guy.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I don\u2019t want to break him because this guy likes me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Queensberry chief and Itauma\u2019s promoter Frank Warren has teased a potential world title fight for the youngster by the end of the year if all goes well against Franklin.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t really say until this fight is over where we go, but in an ideal world I would like to see him fighting for a world title by the end of the year,\u201d Warren explained.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI can honestly say at this stage of his career and the age he\u2019s at, he\u2019s the most impressive heavyweight I\u2019ve ever been involved with. And that\u2019s at this stage, and on Saturday he\u2019s in with a guy who\u2019s very, very experienced\u2026 He\u2019s never been stopped. So this is a big, big moment for him. This guy is very, very experienced, this is Moses\u2019 14th fight.
