The headliner — which will be shown live on Main Event and Kayo Sports — will also be Fundora\u2019s first appearance since forcing Tszyu to retire on his stool last July. <\/p>\n
Asked for a prediction for the Thurman fight by Fight Hub TV this week, Fundora replied: \u201cI see a fifth or sixth round stoppage.<\/p>\n
\u201cA win over him is going to catapult me to a different level in this sport. Not just being a champion but a superstar.\u201d<\/p>\n
The KO declaration came immediately after the fight press conference, where \u2018The Towering Inferno\u2019 initially made it known he doesn\u2019t expect to go the distance with Thurman.<\/p>\n
\u201cI definitely don\u2019t see this going 12 rounds,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut no matter how long it goes, it ends with me having my hand raised.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re gonna have a great night \u2026 expect \u2018The Towering Inferno\u2019 to burn Las Vegas down once again.\u201d<\/p>\n
Before finishing Tszyu last July, the WBC super welterweight champ had also needed just four rounds to finish Chordale Booker in March that saw year.<\/p>\n
The double means that of his 23 career wins, 15 have now been stoppages. <\/p>\n
Regardless, the champ is refusing to underestimate the great dubbed \u2018One Time\u2019, and who is also coming off victory over an Australian — having last start stopped Brock Jarvis in what was tipped to be a build towards his own fight with Tszyu. <\/p>\n
\u201cThurman is one of my best opponents for sure,\u201d Fundora continued. \u201cBut I have to look at it like just another fight.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have to look at it as my job.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is work for me, and I just have to clock in.\u201d<\/p>\n
Asked for his own thoughts at the press event Thurman said: \u201cI\u2019m here to hurt this boy \u2026 trying to send him home beltless.<\/p>\n
\u201cFundora gets hit.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s used to trading and going at it, but I\u2019m here to put that fire out.\u201d<\/p>\n
The champ, meanwhile, suggested Thurman was underestimating him.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe doesn\u2019t think we\u2019re mature enough to be in the ring with him,\u201d Fundora said. \u201cAs in not experience-wise.<\/p>\n
\u201c[But] I\u2019ve been boxing my whole life as well.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of people think we just blasted on the scene because we\u2019re tall and it just happened for us. No. Rome wasn\u2019t built in one day, and it\u2019s the same thing for Sebastian Fundora.\u201d<\/p>\n
Quizzed after the press conference about seemingly being unfazed by Thurman\u2019s famed chatter, the champ continued: \u201cThat\u2019s how I\u2019ve been raised, to respect.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t have any ill feelings towards anyone. I\u2019m going in there and I\u2019m going to punch you in the face. What more can I say?<\/p>\n
\u201c[Plus with] the people that really piss you off, you can\u2019t do that in the streets.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I have someone talking to me though, talking bad to me, I have the opportunity to hit \u2018em for 12 rounds, 36 minutes.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo everything I have, all the bad feelings or whatever the case is, they do right there and then.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fundora added he had also noticed something more behind Thurman\u2019s words.<\/p>\n
\u201cI sense the respect from him,\u201d he stressed. \u201cHe talks a lot but I still sense the respect. I can see it, I can feel it \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
And as for where he goes next in victory?<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s all kinds of names,\u201d Fundora said. \u201cErrol Spence is coming back, that\u2019s a fight that I would want.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have the other champions too.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have Josh Kelly and Xander Zayas. I\u2019d like to have all the belts as well. But these are just ideas right now.
