\n\t\u201cTalamasca: The Secret Order<\/a>\u201d has been canceled at AMC<\/a> after just one season, Variety has learned exclusively. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhile we are not proceeding with another season of \u2018Talamasca: The Secret Order,\u2019 we are proud of the series and grateful for the efforts of everyone involved,\u201d an AMC spokesperson said in a statement to Variety. \u201cThe Talamasca has a storied place within the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and we expect to see at least some of these characters, and the organization itself, in future expressions of the franchise.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThis marks the first time AMC has canceled a show within what they have dubbed the Anne Rice Immortal Universe. The premium cabler originally acquired the rights to Rice\u2019s works<\/a> back in 2020. Since then, they have launched the shows \u201cInterview with the Vampire\u201d and \u201cMayfair Witches\u201d in addition to \u201cTalamasca.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cInterview with the Vampire,\u201d now called \u201cThe Vampire Lestat,\u201d is returning for a third season on June 7, while \u201cMayfair Witches\u201d will be back with its third season in early 2027. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTalamasca\u201d aired its six-episode first season beginning in October 2025, with what is now the series finale airing in late November. Nicholas Denton led the cast, which also included Elizabeth McGovern, William Fichtner, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Celine Buckens. Jason Schwartzman guest starred, with both Eric Bogosian and Justin Kirk reprising their roles from \u201cInterview with the Vampire\u201d in guest star roles. <\/p>\n

\n\tPer the official logline, the show followed Guy Anatole (Denton), who, \u201con the cusp of graduating law school, is approached by a representative of the Talamasca, a secretive agency that monitors and protects us from the supernatural world. When Guy learns that the Talamasca has been tracking him since his childhood, he falls headlong into a world of secret agents and immortal beings who, up to now, have maintained a fragile balance with the mortal world.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTalamasca\u201d was based on both \u201cThe Vampire Chronicles\u201d and \u201cThe Lives of the Mayfair Witches.\u201d John Lee Hancock developed the series and served as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Mark Lafferty. Mark Johnson, who oversees the Immortal Universe for AMC, was also an executive producer, as was Tom Williams, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice.
