GWS coach Adam Kingsley says his side need to make better use of their inside 50 dominance following a 33-point loss to Collingwood at Marvel Stadium on Friday night.<\/p>\n
The Giants won the forward-50 count by eight but were unable to capitalise, scoring just 54 points.<\/p>\n
\u201cDidn\u2019t maximise our entries, our opportunities,\u201d Kingsley said after the Giants\u2019 third consecutive loss.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were 58-50 inside 50s. First half, we had dominance, couldn\u2019t post a winning score from our entries.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of repeat entries so we need to work on our method in that space and then second half, centre bounce.<\/p>\n
\u201cThose were the two areas that I thought were quite costly.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt felt like we had a lot of re-entries particularly in the first half where we just bomb entry and rely on Jesse Hogan taking a contested mark almost and it\u2019s not happening at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kingsley is confident his side can fix their chemistry.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think our connection is nowhere near where it needs to be at the moment and that can happen,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt happens in parts of the season, we have managed to work on it and fix it.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have done it in the past and we will do it again.\u201d<\/p>\n
In another injury blow to the Giants, on the minor side, winger Ryan Angwin came off with an ear injury.<\/p>\n
\u201cBurst his ear drum apparently, must have got hit on the side of the ear and burst his ear drum,\u201d Kingsley said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I don\u2019t think it is significant even though it sounds pretty significant to me as someone who is uneducated in that (medical) space.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kingsley suspects he will be fine to play after the Giants have the week off with the bye.<\/p>\n
Angwin could join Toby Bedford (hamstring), Brent Daniels (hamstring), Aaron Cadman (pelvis) and Jack Buckley (concussion) in being available for the Giants\u2019 next clash against Richmond on April 12.<\/p>\n
