A baby has died and three others have been seriously injured after a Toyota Kluger left the road and slammed into a tree in Perth\u2019s southeast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The silver SUV was travelling along Nicholson Rd in Lynwood about 3.40am on Saturday when it veered off the carriageway and struck a tree, triggering a major emergency response.<\/p>\n

A 35\u2011year\u2011old man \u2014 a ride\u2011share driver \u2014 was behind the wheel and sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n

The passengers, a 32\u2011year\u2011old woman and a seven\u2011month\u2011old child were rushed to Fiona Stanley Hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n

But the baby later died despite efforts to save them.<\/p>\n

Her three\u2011year\u2011old daughter was taken to Perth Children\u2019s Hospital, also with serious injuries.<\/p>\n

Witnesses have described the scene as \u201cvery horrible\u201d, leaving the community reeling.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was like begging – everyone \u2018my baby\u2019s not crying please help us, please help us – my baby\u2019s not breathing\u2019,\u201d one witness said.<\/p>\n

The impact of the crash was so strong it wiped out a concrete bus stop bench before slamming into a tree.<\/p>\n

Residents say around 10 people rushed out to help, some providing first aid.<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore there was no breathing but after the C-P-R the baby was breathing through the mouth,\u201d the witness said.<\/p>\n

The three-year-old and 32-year-old are in a stable condition.<\/p>\n

Major Crash investigators are examining what caused the vehicle to leave the road and are appealing for witnesses.<\/p>\n

Police are urging anyone who saw the crash, or the silver Toyota Kluger travelling in the area beforehand, to contact police.<\/p>\n
