Sky News, reports Gazeta Express.

He said Woods showed “signs of impact” after the incident, which happened shortly after 2pm local time on Friday, not far from where the golfer lives on Jupiter Island.

Woods, 50, underwent a post-arrest alcohol test, which came back negative, but then refused to provide a urine sample, police said.

Sheriff Budensiek told reporters during a press conference:

“When the time came to request a urine test, he refused, and for that reason he has been charged with driving under the influence, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test.”

None of the people involved in the accident reported injuries.

Referring to how the accident happened on a narrow two-lane road, Sheriff Budensiek said it was fortunate that no one was injured.

“If there had been someone moving in the opposite direction, we wouldn’t be talking about no injuries. It could have been a lot worse,” he said.

“He [Woods] was lethargic at the scene, but we believe this was due to the substances he had consumed.”

The vehicle Woods hit was a truck pulling a pressure cleaning trailer.

The truck driver attempted to pull over to the side of the road to avoid the collision, but there wasn’t enough room, the sheriff explained.

It is not known whether Woods was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, as he “crawled out the passenger door” before police arrived at the scene.

Woods was held in custody at the Martin County Jail for about eight hours before being released on bail.

“A very close friend” of Trump

President Donald Trump, whose son’s ex-daughter-in-law, Vanessa Trump, is dating Woods, was asked about the golfer when he arrived in Miami for an investment summit.

“I feel very sorry for him. He’s having some difficulties,” Trump said.

“He’s a very close friend of mine. He’s an extraordinary person. A wonderful man. But he has some difficulties.”

This is the latest in a series of vehicle incidents involving Woods, most recently in February 2021, when his SUV went off a coastal road in Los Angeles at high speed, causing multiple injuries to his legs and ankles.

Woods later said the injuries were so severe that doctors had considered amputation.

He was also arrested in 2017 for driving under the influence, when police found him asleep behind the wheel of his car, which was parked erratically and with damage to the driver’s side.

He later pleaded guilty to dangerous driving after it was discovered he had five prescription drugs in his system at the time.

In 2009, he crashed his car into a fire hydrant and a tree near his home in Florida – an accident that led to the unraveling of problems in his private life.

His then-wife, Elin Nordegren, used a golf club to break the window of the Cadillac Escalade to get him out.

“I am not perfect”

“This situation is my fault and is definitely embarrassing for my family and me,” Woods said on his official website at the time.

“I am human and I am not perfect.”

The incident revealed a bitter marital conflict with Nordegren, as multiple women came out publicly admitting to extramarital affairs with Woods.

Woods and Nordegren divorced in August 2010.

The latest accident comes after Woods returned to competitive play for the first time in more than a year, on the final night of the TGL indoor tournament on Tuesday.

He had said afterwards that he hoped to be fit to play in the Masters tournament next month.

Woods is widely considered one of the greatest golfers of all time. His major titles include five Masters, three U.S. Opens, three British Opens and four PGA Championships.

Driving under the influence of alcohol, causing an accident, golf legend Tiger Woods arrested: I’m not perfect News…

[566
64,63,755,85
post-570618","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-golf","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-golf","tag-sports
["GET
